Swept.

El Paso 9, Fresno 4

W- Jose Dominguez (1-1)
L- Jordan Jankowski (0-2)

Fresno home runs: None.

For the second straight game, El Paso erased a Fresno lead by going on a big scoring run in the closing stages.

Danny Worth opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 1st. Worth later scored on a Colin Moran RBI double in the 5th. Eury Perez and Tony Kemp drove in runs in the 6th with an RBI single and an RBI double, respectively. Roberto Peña was the only player in the Fresno lineup with a multi-hit game; he went 2-4.

Brad Peacock went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs on 7 hits and struck out 5. Jordan Jankowski allowed a solo homer to Nick Noonan in the 7th, which gave El Paso the lead. He allowed one other hit and struck out 2 in the inning. James Hoyt pitched the 8th and allowed 4 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and walked 1.

The Grizzlies and Chihuahuas will wrap up this series tonight at 6:35 Mountain.

San Antonio 7, Corpus Christi 4

W- Fabio Castillo (3-4)
L- Kyle Smith (0-4)
S- Jason Jester (4)

CC home runs: Teoscar Hernandez (2, solo in 1st), D.J. Fisher (4, solo in 6th)

The Hooks made this game a 1-run affair twice, but they couldn't find a way to get over the hump.

Teoscar Hernandez and D.J. Fisher both enjoyed nice days at the plate for Corpus. Teoscar wasted little time in getting the scoring started as he homered to lead off the 1st. Fisher led off the 4th with a double and eventually scored on a single from Danry Vásquez. Fisher smacked a solo shot in the 6th and drove in the last Corpus run with a single in the 8th. He finished 4-4 and also stole a base, his 3rd of the season. Teoscar (solo HR, 2 SB [9]) and Danry both finished 2-4.

Kyle Smith went 5 innings and allowed 4 runs on 5 hits (2 2-run homers), walked 1, and struck out 5. David Paulino pitched the final 4 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits (solo homer) and striking out 5.

Brian Holmes will start game 3 of this series. He'll face Johnny Hellweg at 7:05.

Visalia 19, Lancaster 2

W- Ethan Elias (2-1)
L- Elieser Hernandez (0-3)

Lancaster home runs: None.

Well... after the JetHawks hung 19 on the Rawhide on Saturday night, Visalia returned the favor as they took the series.

Lancaster's pitchers got battered, and well... some things are better left unsaid. I'm trying to make sure that these recaps are safe for those who are reading from the workplace.

Marc Wik grounded into a forceout that scored Ramon Laureano in the 4th. Laureano, who finished 2-3, hit an RBI single in the 5th.

After a day off, the JetHawks will start a 3-game series in Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday.

Quad Cities was off

The River Bandits will start a 3-game series with Burlington today at 11 AM. Alex Winkelman will face Ronnie Glenn.
