    1. No, Dustin and I were both surprised as well. I could speculate an injury or family issues or the like, but honestly haven't seen a thing. I'll let you know if I do.

    2. When asked about it by the Chronicle, Mike Elias didn't elaborate any further... he only said that it was "[Chavez's] decision" to retire.
