Getting outhit 18-4 in a game is not exactly ideal.
Casey Coleman went 2.2 innings and allowed 4 runs on 5 hits (solo and 2-run homers), walked 3, and struck out 2. Aaron West was the first man out of the Fresno bullpen and went 2.1 innings, allowing 2 unearned runs on 4 hits and striking out 2. Brendan McCurry allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and struck out 1 in 2 innings. Ashur Tolliver was next, and he got 2 outs in the 8th, allowing a run on 2 hits and walking 1. Jordan Jankowski pitched the final 1.1 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3.
Juan Centeno opened the scoring with a 2-run double in the 1st inning. Teoscar Hernandez scored on an errant pickoff throw in the 6th, and Preston Tucker had a 2-run single in the 7th.
David Martinez faces Bryan Rodriguez in game 3 of this series. First pitch is at 7:05 Pacific.

The Hooks threatened in the bottom of the 9th, but no cigar.
Jason Martin went 2-4 and drove in Corpus Christi's only run with a 6th-inning RBI single. The Hooks left the bases loaded to end the game.
Brock Dykxhoorn wasn't bad in his 5 innings, but he had to take the loss. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits (solo homer), walked 3, and struck out 3. Rogelio Armenteros struck out 3 over 4 perfect innings.
Yoanys Quiala makes his Texas League debut tonight at 7:05. He'll take on Chris Huffman.
Buies Creek 5, Winston-Salem 4 in 10 innings

L- Jake Johansen (0-1)
BC home runs: None.
The Carolina Stros walked off with a win to avoid the sweep. They scored the last five runs of the contest after falling behind 4-0.
The one hit that Ryan Hartman allowed in his 3 innings was a solo homer hit by Luis Silverio. Hartman also struck out 3. Brett Adcock and Justin Ferrell pitched 2 innings apiece; Adcock allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1, while Ferrell allowed a hit and fanned 1. Nick Hernandez recorded a strikeout in a 1-2-3 8th, and Ralph Garza Jr. allowed a hit, walked 1, and struck out 3 over 2 scoreless.
Randy César scored Buies Creek's first run of the day on a Rodrigo Ayarza groundout in the 5th. Alex De Goti scored on a Jake Rogers groundout in the 6th. The Carolina Stros tied the game with 2 in the 8th on a pair of RBI singles from Rogers and César. De Goti scored the winning run on an error. De Goti went 0-2, but he scored 3 of Buies Creek's 5 runs on Sunday. César, Dex McCall, and Myles Straw all finished 2-4.
The Carolina League All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday in Salem, Virginia. Buies Creek will resume play on Thursday against the Carolina Mudcats.
The Carolina Stros will be represented by Nick Hernandez, Franklin Perez, and Myles Straw. Yoanys Quiala was also selected to the South Division All-Star team, but he was just promoted to Corpus Christi.

QC home runs: Yordan Alvarez (9, 2-run in 3rd)
The Banditos won, but unfortunately, Cedar Rapids did as well, so the Kernels got the wild-card spot in the first half.
Both teams scored 2 in the 3rd; Quad Cities' 2 came courtesy of a Yordan Alvarez homer. Bryan De La Cruz scored the tying run in the 8th on an error that allowed Ray Henderson to reach, and Jonathan Arauz put Quad Cities in front when he scored on a Tyler Wolfe fielder's choice. Daz Cameron scored an insurance run on a wild pitch in the 9th inning.
Ronel Blanco went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. Abdiel Saldaña was the first man out of the Banditos bullpen and went 3 innings, allowing an unearned run on 2 hits, walking 2, and striking out 3. Kevin Hill navigated out of some trouble to close out the game. He allowed a hit, a walk, and struck out 1 in the 9th.
The Midwest League All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday from Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan, home of the Great Lakes Loons. The River Bandits will be represented by Yordan Alvarez, Enoli Paredes (who is currently on the DL), Carson LaRue, Chuckie Robinson, and Marcos Almonte.
Quad Cities returns to action on Thursday against Cedar Rapids.
