Trailing 4-0 after the second, Quad Cities came back to tie it in the seventh and win it in extras. Carlos Sanabria got the start for the Bandits but didn't last long as he was roughed up to the tune of four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks in 1.2 innings. Enter Yohan Ramirez who pitched brilliantly for the next 5.1 innings, allowing only two singles and striking out six. The Bandits weren't able to get a lead for Ramirez but did manage to tie things up in the bottom of the seventh by scoring four runs on four straight two-out singles and a fielding error. Devon Carr pitched a scoreless eighth, but was pulled in the ninth after issuing a one-out walk and hitting a batter, in favor of Jesus Balaguer. Balaguer allowed two singles in his 1.2 frames while striking out three to keep the score tied 4-4 going into the bottom of the 10th. Colin Moran drew a walk to start the Bandits off and was replaced by pinch runner Luis Payano who advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Chuckie Robinson. Abraham Toro was walked to get to Josh Rojas, who promptly hit a line drive single to right scoring Payano. Toro, Ray Henderson and Bryan de la Cruz all collected two hits in the game. De la Cruz drove in two.
The action continues at Cedar Rapids at 4:05 CST today.
