Game 2 of the Midwest League Division Finals is in the books and it wasn't nearly as fun as Game 1.
Quad Cities starter Ronel Blanco took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks over 2.2 innings and allowing Cedar Rapids to take the early lead. Lucas Williams (2.1IP 4H 3R 1BB) didn't fare much better and the Bandits were in a 7-0 hole at the end of the fifth. Quad Cities was able to get on the board in the top of the sixth as they sent 10 batters to the plate; they scored four runs on four walks, three singles and a wild pitch. Nathan Thompson came in for the bottom of the sixth and allowed only one double and two walks the rest of the way, but the Bandits only managed to produce two base runners in their final three innings, one of which was erased on a double play so that was that. Chas McCormick went three-for-four with a walk and an RBI. Colin Moran and Bryan de la Cruz each had two hits with a double and Troy Sieber collected two hits as well.
Game 3 is scheduled for 6:35 Monday in Cedar Rapids.
