Game 1 of the best-of-five League Championship Series went swimmingly (mostly) as Quad Cities took a 1-0 lead over Fort Wayne on the road. The Bandits took a 5-0 lead in the top of the first, scoring four of those five runs with two outs thanks to an Abraham Toro RBI triple and a 3-run shot from J.J. Matijevic. Quad Cities starter Cristian Javier gave two back in the bottom of the frame via the long ball. Chuckie Robinson countered with a solo shot in the top of the third to make it 6-2. Javier allowed another Fort Wayne run on a walk and two singles to make it 6-3 before being replaced by Jesus Balaguer with two outs in the fourth. Balaguer (W, 3.0IP 1H 1BB 7SO) and Robert Corniel (S, 2.1IP 1H 2SO) collectively allowed only two singles and a walk over the final 5.1 innings. The River Bandits only collected seven hits in the game, two each from Chas McCormick and Colin Moran, and struck out 16 times. Twelve of those strikeouts came against Fort Wayne starter Pedro Avila.
