Let's play two in Buies Creek and Troy!
Fresno 9, Memphis 3
W- Trent Thornton (8-7)
L- Kevin Herget (8-8)
Fresno home runs: Yordan Alvarez (5, 17 season; grand slam in 3rd)
The second leg of Fresno's tour of Tennessee started off on a much more pleasant note.
Trent Thornton allowed two runs on seven hits, walked one, and struck out one in seven innings. Matt Ramsey and Reymin Guduan pitched one inning apiece; Ramsey allowed a solo homer and struck out one in the 8th, while Guduan issued a walk and struck out two in a scoreless 9th.
Jack Mayfield doubled to start the 2nd inning and he ended up scoring the first run of the evening when Nick Tanielu took his spot at second base. Fisher (2B, RBI, 2 R, SB), Tucker (2 RBI, R), Tanielu (2 2B, RBI, R), and Alex De Goti (2B, R) all finished with two hits on the night. De Goti had a nice showing to begin his second stint with the Grizzlies; he got into five games for them at the end of last season.
Josh James will face Connor Jones in game two of this series. First pitch is at 2:05.
Frisco 5, Corpus Christi 3
W- Ryne Slack (2-3)
L- Framber Valdez (4-5)

CC home runs: Ronnie Dawson (1, 11 season; solo in 1st), Carlos Correa (1, solo in 4th)
The Hooks scored in more innings, but the Roughriders put up the only crooked number in this game.
Ronnie Dawson wasted little time in getting things started when he smacked a home run to begin the game. Carlos Correa launched an absolute bomb in the 4th, and Lorenzo Quintana hit an RBI single in the 7th inning. Dawson finished 3-4; the homer was his first in the Texas League. He was the only person in the Corpus lineup to finish with more than one hit in this game.
