Astros Minor League Recaps

Results for Tuesday, April 30, 2019

A(nother) rainout and an off day for the upper-level affiliates meant that only the Class A teams were in action down on the farm, where the Astros' affiliates did battle with Cleveland's Class A affiliates.

Round Rock and Oklahoma City was postponed

For the second consecutive night because of rain. This game will be made up when the Express returns to OKC in July.

To make up Monday's game, these two teams will play a doubleheader starting at 11:05 AM. Akeem Bostick will take on Ben Holmes in game one and Ryan Hartman will start game two for the Express.

Corpus Christi was off

The Hooks will start a three-game series in Northwest Arkansas tonight at 7:05. Brandon Bielak will face Conner Greene.

Lynchburg 3, Fayetteville 1

W- Justin Garza (2-3)
L- Shawn Dubin (0-1, 1-1 season)
S- Anthony Gose (1)

Fayetteville home runs: None.

The Woodpeckers outhit the Hillcats 6-3, but unfortunately, they only had one run to show for those efforts.

Shawn Dubin went 4.2 innings and allowed three runs on two hits, one of which was a two-run home run, walked four, and struck out two. Yohan Ramirez shut things down as he allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out eight over 4.1 scoreless innings.

Colton Shaver drove in Fayetteville's only run when he ripped an RBI double in the 4th inning. Jacob Meyers finished 2-4 with a double.

Enoli Paredes takes on Nick Gallagher in the series finale. First pitch is at 7:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities 6, Lake County 5

W- Austin Hansen (3-1)
L- Shane McCarthy (2-2)
S- Riley Cabral (2)

QC home runs: Scott Schreiber (2, 3-run in 3rd), César Salazar (1, solo in 6th)

Before I start, I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to the people of the Quad Cities and hope that they remain safe as they continue to deal with the flooding from the Mississippi.

The Banditos jumped out to a 6-0 lead and had to hold on for dear life as the Captains suddenly sprang to life with five runs in the 7th inning.

Quad Cities led off the game by loading the bases and they ended up getting a couple of runs out of it; Jonathan Lacroix and Scott Schreiber both hit RBI groundouts to open the scoring. Schreiber whacked a three-run homer in the 3rd and César Salazar led off the 6th with a homer that pushed the Banditos' lead to 6-0. Enmanuel Valdez finished 3-5 with a run scored; Lacroix went 2-4 with a double and scored a run on Schreiber's home run.

Austin Hansen allowed three hits, walked two, and struck out four over five shutout innings. Jonathan Bermúdez pitched a scoreless 6th inning but ran into some trouble in the 7th, failing to record an out. He allowed four runs (three earned, three inherited runners charged to him), a double, walked two, and struck out one. Devin Conn took ownership of the 7th and pitched the 8th; in these two innings, he allowed a run of his own on a two-run single (one run was charged to Bermúdez), walked three, and struck out two. Conn issued two bases-loaded walks in the 7th that ended up getting charged to Bermúdez. Riley Cabral worked around a walk to close out the game.

R.J. Freure makes his first start of the season at 6:30 Eastern. He'll take on Alex Royalty.
