The 21st player and Final Starting Pitcher selected for the What the Heck 25-Man Roster was RHP Nick Tropeano. Also receiving votes were Adrian Houser, Tanner Bushue, Tommy Shirley, Luis Ordosgoitti and Kyle Hallock. (For more information on the WTH 25-Man Roster, go here.)

WTH 25-Man Roster - Final Starting Pitcher
As posted over the weekend, the 20th player added to the WTH 25-Man Roster was OF Domingo Santana. Also receiving votes were Austin Wates, Jacob Goebbert, Emilio King, Neiko Johnson, Teoscar Hernandez, Collin DeLome and Jay Austin. For more information on the WTH Roster, go here.
This week we're going to pick our 5th and Final Starting Pitcher. This list was compiled of those who received votes in the last round of voting. Personally, I would like to have another lefty in the rotation and Kyle Hallock with his 8.90 SO/9, 3.59 SO:BB ratio, 2.63 ERA and 1.216 WHIP would be the most logical candidate. But I also really like Nick Tropeano (10.63 SO/9, 2.36 ERA, 1.181 WHIP); Nick has recently gotten some love from Baseball America and from Jonathan Mayo as he landed on their prospect rankings. But we can't forget about the 19-year olds ~ Adrian Houser with one of the best fastballs in the system and Luis Ordosgoitti with his 10 BB to 49 SO in 2011. Finally, I'm looking forward to seeing what a healthy Vincent Velasquez, Tommy Shirley and Tanner Bushue can do, and I'm expecting improvement from Ross Seaton this year as well.
With all that said, here are the 2011 stats for the players. Look them over and vote.

WTH 25-Man Roster - Starting Pitcher
As posted over the weekend, the 16th player added to the WTH 25-Man Roster was C Jordan Comadena. Also receiving votes were Ben Heath, Roberto Pena, Ernesto Genoves and Franny Polanco. For more information on the WTH Roster, go here.
This week we're going to pick our 4th Starting Pitcher. This list was compiled of top vote-getters from prior rounds of voting. I love this list. After subtracting Jake Buchanan, Dallas Keuchel and Jarred Cosart, who have already made the WTH Roster, there is still a great deal of talent remaining. I really like Nick Tropeano (10.63 SO/9, 2.36 ERA, 1.181 WHIP) and Kyle Hallock (8.90 SO/9, 3.59 SO:BB ratio, 2.63 ERA, 1.216 WHIP). Adrian Houser, who doesn't turn 19 until 2/2, has one of the best fastballs in the system. Luis Ordosgoitti had 10 BB to 49 SO in 2011 (at only 19). By all reports, Paul Clemens is ready for the bigs now, and Brett Oberholtzer isn't far behind him. I'm eager to see what a healthy Vincent Velasquez, Tommy Shirley and Tanner Bushue can do, and I'm expecting improvement from Ross Seaton this year as well.

WTH 25-Man Roster - Starting Pitcher
As posted over the weekend, we were able to narrow down the pool for Starting Pitcher candidates, including those with fewer innings (Adrian Houser) and those coming off the DL (Vincent Velasquez), etc. Now that the field has been narrowed, we are going to vote for our third Starting Pitcher (the fourth & fifth will also be coming from this list).
This is not an easy vote. Cosart and Houser probably have the best stuff of all of these guys, but Cosart has three years on Houser. Clemens and Oberholtzer are probably ready to go today while Nick Tropeano, Kyle Hallock and Luis Ordosgoitti have me excited for what may come. Ross Seaton is a workhorse and is only 22 at Corpus so look for improvement this season. And what will a healthy Velasquez be capable of?
