ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

2014 AFL Fall-Stars Game: East 6, West 2

W- Archie Bradley
L- Nick Howard

The two Astros had solid nights; Tyson Perez got the final 2 outs of the game, striking out 1. Rio Ruiz entered the game at 3B in the 5th and went 1-2 with a single in the 6th and came around to score.

The Salt River Rafters are back in action tomorrow evening when they travel to Mesa at 6:35 Mountain.

AUSTRALIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE

Brisbane 7, Adelaide 2

W- Jaspreet Shergill (1-0)
L- Wilson Lee (0-1)

Brisbane HRs by Astros players: None.

The Bandits jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 5 innings and the Bite got held to 4 hits.

Chan-Jong Moon finished 0-4, while Tyler Brunnemann came on in the 8th and allowed a double to Granden Goetzman, and an error allowed him to score. He struck out 1.

Adelaide has this upcoming weekend off, while Brisbane takes on Melbourne for 4 games from Friday-Monday.

LIGA VENEZOLANA DE BÉISBOL PROFESIONAL

Caracas 9, La Guaira 2

W- Jarrett Grube (2-0)
L- J.C. Sulbaran (0-4)

Caracas HRs by Astros players: None.

After both teams scored 2 in the 1st, Caracas took control by scoring the game's final 7 runs.

Gregorio Petit finished 1-2 before being lifted for a pinch-runner in the 4th, and Danry Vásquez went 2-3 with a sac fly that turned into a double play in the 7th.

Caracas is in Aragua for a game this afternoon. First pitch is at 1:00 Venezuelan time.

Bravos 6, Magallanes 2

W- Eric Berger (3-1)
L- David Martinez (0-1)

David Martinez got the start for Magallanes and allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits and struck out 7.

Magallanes will play one more game on the island on Margarita this evening. First pitch is at 7:00 Venezuelan time.

LIDOM

Toros 11, Águilas 6

W- Jose Lugo (1-0)
L- Angel Castro (1-1)

Águilas HRs by Astros players: None.

Toros trailed 6-5 after 5 innings, but they scored 5 unanswered to close it out. Teoscar Hernandez went 2-4 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base (2).

For Águilas, Jonathan Villar hit a double in 3 at-bats and also drew a walk.

Toros will take on Estrellas, while Águilas will face their rivals, Gigantes. Both games will start at 5:00 Atlantic.

Licey 4, Gigantes 1

W- John Lannan (1-1)
L- Scott Diamond (0-1)

Licey HRs by Astros players: None.

The Tigers got the win as they put up 2 in the 8th to pad their 2-0 lead. Domingo Santana finished 2-4 with a double and a run scored.

Licey will take on Escogido in the battle of the capital at 5:00 Atlantic.

LIGA MEXICANA DEL PACÍFICO

Los Mochis 5, Jalisco 4

W- Andres Avila (2-0)
L- Manuel Flores (0-1)

Jalisco led 4-3 after the 5th, but Los Mochis scored the final 2 runs of the evening to get the win.

Japhet Amador went 0-3 with 2 walks and a strikeout.

This series will conclude at 3:30 Mountain.

Culiacán 4, Hermosillo 3

W- Salvador Valdez (1-1)
L- Jesse Estrada (0-1)

Gonzalo Sañudo was the first man out of the bullpen for Culiacán and worked around a walk to throw a scoreless 7th, striking out 2.

Culiacán and Hermosillo will wrap up their series at 5:00 Mountain.

LIGA DE BÉISBOL PROFESIONAL ROBERTO CLEMENTE

Carolina 8, Mayagüez 1

W- Emilio Pagan (1-0)
L- Jorge Lopez (0-1)

Carolina HRs by Astros players: René Garcia (1, solo in 7th)

Carolina busted out for 5 in the 4th to take a 5-0 lead and they cruised to the win. René Garcia, who finished 2-4, provided the final run of the evening with his solo shot in the 7th. Carlos Corporán went 0-4, but he drove in a run as he grounded into a force out.

Los Gigantes will be in Caguas for a game at 4:15 Atlantic.
