Appel was born July 15, 1991 in Houston, Texas, and was drafted by the Astros in the first round (first overall) in 2013 out of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. He is currently playing for the AAA Fresno Grizzlies.

LHP Carlos Hiraldo (19)
Hiraldo was born July 15, 1996 in Altimira, Dominican Republic and was signed by Houston as an international free agent in November 2013. He is currently playing for the Gulf Coast League Astros.
OF Ramon Laureano (21)
Laureano was born July 15, 1994 in Miami, Florida, and was drafted by Houston in the 16th round in 2014 out of Northeast Oklahoma A&M College. He is currently playing for the Low A Quad Cities River Bandits.
OF/Baserunning Coach Tim Garland (45)
Garland was born July 15, 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is in his third season coaching in the Astros organization, his first as an outfield coach for the Quad Cities River Bandits and a baserunning development specialist for the Astros minor league system.
