Salt Lake 6, Fresno 3

Fresno home runs: A.J. Reed (8, solo in 2nd)

A 3-run 5th was the difference in this game for the Bees.

A.J. Reed put Fresno on the board with a solo shot in the 2nd, his 8th of the season. Danny Worth drew a bases-loaded walk in the 3rd, and Nolan Fontana hit an RBI groundout in the 7th. Reed also hit a triple to go with his homer.

Brad Peacock went 5 innings and allowed 4 unearned runs on 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. Jandel Gustave allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2 in 2 innings. Jordan Jankowski struck out 1 in a 1-2-3 8th, and Josh Fields did the same in the 9th.

César Valdez will start game 3 of this series. First pitch is at 7:05 Pacific.

Midland 7, Corpus Christi 6 in 10 innings

CC home runs: Nick Tanielu (3, 7 season; solo in 10th)

An error in the 10th inning proved to be costly for the Hooks, who were foiled in their bid to sweep the series.

Alex Bregman put Corpus on the board and in the lead with a 2-run single in the 3rd inning. The Hooks scored 3 in the 4th on a 2-run single from Alejandro Garcia and an RBI single from Teoscar Hernandez. The Hounds scored 4 in the 5th to tie and took the lead with 2 in the 10th. Nick Tanielu led off the bottom of the 10th with a homer to cut the deficit to one run, but the next three Hooks hitters went down in order.

Tanielu finished 3-5 and scored twice, while Teoscar finished 2-4 with the RBI single and 2 stolen bases (22).

Edison Frias allowed 4 runs (2 inherited runners charged to him) on 3 hits, walked 4, and fanned 8 in 4.2 innings. Evan Grills allowed a run on 5 hits and struck out 2 in 4.1 innings, and Brendan McCurry was charged with the loss. The 2 Midland runs in the 10th were unearned; he allowed a hit, walked 2, and struck out 1.

Tonight, the next round of the I-37 Rivalry begins as the San Antonio Missions are in Corpus to start a 4-game series. Cy Sneed will get the start for Corpus, and he'll take on Aaron Northcraft at 7:05.

Visalia 4, Lancaster 1

W- Josh Taylor (2-5)
L- Brock Dykxhoorn (4-2)

Lancaster home runs: None.

The JetHawks dropped a rather non-descript game to fall to 1-4 against Visalia this season.

Luis Reynoso's RBI single in the 2nd was Lancaster's only scoring play. Bobby Boyd and Ramon Laureano had 2 hits apiece; Laureano also stole his 25th base of the season.

Brock Dykxhoorn went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. Jacob Dorris allowed a run on 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3 in 1.1 innings, and Kevin Comer fanned 2 over 1.2 perfect innings.

Scott Weathersby will start game 3 of this series. He'll face Brad Keller at 7:00 Pacific.

Burlington 3, Quad Cities 1

W- Sam Holland (2-0)
L- Yoanys Quiala (0-4)

QC home runs: Pat Porter (3, solo in 2nd)

The Banditos were stung by a 2-run bottom of the 8th that broke a 1-1 tie in the Bees' favor.

Pat Porter's solo blast in the 2nd inning was Quad Cities' only scoring play. Connor Goedert and Kristian Trompiz both hit doubles for the Bandits.

Chris Murphy went 5 innings and allowed a run on 6 hits while striking out 4. Yoanys Quiala allowed those 2 go-ahead runs, which were unearned. He pitched 3 innings and allowed 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1.

In game 2 of this series, Franklin Perez will get the start. He'll face Ronnie Glenn at 6:30.

DSL Astros Blue 2, DSL Red Sox1 0 in 10 innings

W- Jheyson Caraballo (1-0)
L- Antonio Police (0-1)

Blue home runs: None.

After losing 2-0 on Thursday, the Blue team got even with the Red Sox with a 2-0 win in extra innings.

Leovanny Rodriguez and Jheyson Caraballo joined forces on a 3-hitter, and they both pitched 5 innings. Rodriguez allowed a hit and struck out 4, while Caraballo allowed 2 hits, walked 1, and fanned 3.

Cesar Cortez's 2-run triple in the 10th was the only scoring play of the game. Ronny Jimenez went 2-4 and scored one of those runs; Nicolas Miranda came on as a pinch-runner and scored the other run.

The Blue team is currently playing the Royals.

DSL Astros Orange 10, DSL Phillies2 4

W- Asael Uribe (1-0)
L- Wilerik Diaz (0-2)
S- Jose Ramos (1)

Orange home runs: Jose Abel Hernandez (1, 2-run in 2nd)

The Orange team jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back in a comfortable win.

Jose Abel Hernandez's 2-run shot in the 2nd opened up the scoring for Team Orange. They got 2 more in the inning on a pair of RBI singles from Ronaldo Urdaneta and Kendy Moya. In the 3rd, Renaigel Martis drew a bases loaded walk, and Jose Abel stole home. Enmanuel Valdez ripped an RBI double in the 4th and scored on a Hector Martinez groundout. In the 8th, Martinez grounded into a fielder's choice that allowed Moya to score, and Gilberto Celestino scored the final run of the day on a wild pitch. Moya and Martinez both had 2 hits on the day.

Hansel Paulino went 4 innings and allowed 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. Asael Uribe worked around a walk to throw a scoreless 5th, striking out 1. Michael Richez allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and walked 1 in the 6th, and Jose Ramos got the 3-inning save, allowing an unearned run on 3 hits, walking 1, and striking out 1.

The Orange team is currently playing the Mets 2.
