W- Dayan Diaz (2-0)
L- Simon Castro (0-1)

Fresno home runs: Jon Kemmer (4, solo in 8th), A.J. Reed (5, walk-off 2-run in 9th)

The Grizzlies walked off with the win as A.J. Reed launched a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 9th.
David Paulino turned in a bare minimum quality start, allowing 3 hits (solo and 2-run homers), walking 2, and striking out 6. Ashur Tolliver recorded a strikeout in a 1-2-3 7th. Jordan Jankowski allowed an unearned run on a double and struck out 1 in the 8th, and Dayan Diaz allowed a solo homer to Chris Parmelee in the 9th. He also allowed one other hit in the frame.

D.J. Fisher put Fresno on the board with an RBI double in the 5th inning. Colin Moran ripped an RBI double in the 6th, and Reid Brignac added a sac fly later in the frame which tied the game at 3. The Sounds regained the lead with a run in the top of the 8th, but Jon Kemmer re-tied the game by smacking a solo homer, his 4th of the year. Parmelee's homer put Nashville back in front in the 9th, but Reed had other ideas. Preston Tucker drew a walk to lead off the 9th, and Reed sent the Chukchansi Park crowd home happy with a 2-run blast that hit a truck that was backing up.

Fisher finished 3-5 with a couple of doubles and a stolen base (6). Reed, Moran, and Kemmer all had 2 hits on the afternoon.

The series concludes at 7:05 Pacific as Trent Thornton faces off against Dan Mengden.

Buies Creek 6, Myrtle Beach 2

W- Brett Adcock (1-1, 2-1 season)
L- Thomas Hatch (0-4)

BC home runs: None.

The Astros put up the only crooked-numbered inning of this game, which allowed them to take the series from the Pelicans.

Brett Adcock got roughed up in his Carolina League debut but rebounded with a solid outing. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits (solo homer), walked 2, and struck out 4. Alex Winkelman tagged in to throw 3.1 scoreless, allowing 5 hits (all singles), walking 2, and striking out 7. Howie Brey faced two Pelicans in the 9th and struck them both out to end the game.

Jake Rogers opened the scoring with an RBI triple in the opening frame. Anibal Sierra doubled to lead off the 2nd, then advanced to 3rd when Arturo Michelena laid down a sacrifice bunt and managed to reach base safely. After Myles Straw became the first casualty of the 2nd inning, Ryne Birk walked to load the bases for Rogers, who drew a walk to bring Sierra home. Kyle Tucker followed with a 2-run single. Dex McCall hit a sac fly in the 5th, and Little Tuck capped off the evening with an RBI single in the 6th. Straw and Tucker had two hits apiece.

Matt Bower will take the mound as Buies Creek looks for the sweep. First pitch is at 7:05 Eastern.
