A relatively light slate as only the complex-league clubs and the ones in leagues that have more than one A were in action.

Round Rock 4, Memphis 1

W- Cy Sneed (6-6)
L- Jake Woodford (5-6)

RR home runs: Garrett Stubbs (6, 2-run in 2nd), Derek Fisher (11, solo in 3rd)

A fine outing from Cy Sneed powered the E-Train to the win.

Sneed allowed five hits, walked one, and struck out seven over seven shutout innings. Justin Ferrell struck out one in a 1-2-3 8th. The Redbirds spoiled the shutout with a solo homer off Colin McKee in the 9th; McKee allowed two hits and fanned two.

Garrett Stubbs smacked a two-run homer in the 2nd to open the scoring and Derek Fisher led off the 3rd with a homer. Taylor Jones hit an RBI single in the 5th for the last Round Rock run. Josh Rojas finished 2-4 from the leadoff spot.

Akeem Bostick faces Mike Hauschild in game three of this series. First pitch is at 7:05.

Northwest Arkansas 5, Corpus Christi 2

CC home runs: Ronnie Dawson (15, 2-run in 2nd)

The Naturals pulled ahead with a run in the 8th and got two insurance runs in the 9th to take the first game of the series.

Ronnie Dawson went 2-4 and his two-run blast in the 2nd represented Corpus Christi's only scoring play. Abraham Toro went 2-3 with a double.

Chad Donato allowed three hits, one of which was a two-run home run, and struck out seven in seven innings of work. The Naturals got to Tommy DeJuneas in the last two innings; DeJuneas allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits (two-run homer), walked one, and struck out three.

Enoli Paredes gets the start in game two of this series. He'll take on Brady Singer at 6:15.

Fayetteville was off

The Woodpeckers will start a three-game series in Lynchburg at 6:30 Eastern. Cody Deason will take on Justin Garza.

Quad Cities was off

The River Bandits welcome Dayton to Modern Woodmen Park for a three-game midweek series beginning at 6:35. Jonathan Bermúdez gets the start and he'll go against Jhon De Jesus.

Tri-City was off

The ValleyCats will start a three-game series against Lowell at 7:00 Eastern.

GCL Mets 16, GCL Astros 7

GCL home runs: Yorbin Ceuta (2, 2-run in 2nd)

Well that was not a very fun afternoon for the Palm Beach 'Stros.

Of the four pitchers who appeared, Heitor Tokar gave up the fewest runs. He went 3.2 innings and allowed a run on three hits, walked two, and struck out two.

Gerry Castillo hit an RBI single in the 2nd and he scored when Yorbin Ceuta whacked a homer. Castillo ripped a two-run double in the 6th and in the 8th, Yefri Carrillo hit a sac fly and Franklin Pinto hit an RBI single. Castillo, Ceuta, José Álvarez, and Adonis Giron all finished with two hits on the afternoon.

The Palm Beach 'Stros will take on the Cardinals at noon Eastern.

DSL Astros and DSL Red Sox 1 was suspended

Due to rain. The Dominican Stros ran off four runs in the 4th to tie the game. Frank Perez hit a two-run single and Tomás Ramírez followed by launching a two-run homer, which was the last action before play was halted. That shot was Ramírez's second home run of the season. Yohander Martinez is currently 2-2.

Jeremy Molero pitched 2.1 innings and allowed three runs (one inherited runner charged to him), a hit, walked five, and struck out three. Edinson Batista allowed a run on two hits and got the final two outs of the 3rd.

Fresno 8, Albuquerque 5

Fresno home runs: Reid Brignac (8, 2-run in 2nd)

The Grizzlies stormed out to a 7-1 lead after the first 3 innings. Albuquerque managed to cut into that lead and got to within two runs, but the early cushion was enough to get them the win.

D.J. Fisher put Fresno on the board with an RBI triple in the 1st inning. One batter later, Colin Moran ripped a double to bring him home. Reid Brignac launched a 2-run homer in the 2nd, and in the 3rd, Max Stassi hit an RBI single and Alejandro Garcia added a 2-run single. Moran tripled to lead off the 8th and scored on a Teoscar Hernandez single. Moran went 3-3 on the night, while Brignac finished 2-3.

Trent Thornton went 5 innings and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. The one hit that Brendan McCurry allowed in his 2 innings of work was a solo homer to Ryan McMahon in the 7th. McCurry also struck out 4. Dayan Diaz and Kevin Comer allowed a hit and struck out 2 in a scoreless 8th and 9th, respectively.

Joe Musgrove looks to right the ship in his return to Fresno. He'll take on Sam Howard as Fresno concludes its homestand at 7:05 Pacific.

Corpus Christi was off

The Hooks kick off the post-All-Star Game portion of their schedule with a tour of Arkansas. Kent Emanuel gets the start in the first game of a 3-game set with Northwest Arkansas and he'll face Emilio Ogando at 7:05.

Buies Creek 2, Carolina 1

BC home runs: None.

Yordan Alvarez was the offense, and Framber Valdez dominated on the hill for the Carolia Stros.

Framber pitched a career-best 8 innings and allowed a run on 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out a career-high 11. Ralph Garza struck out 2 in a scoreless 9th to get the save; an error allowed Lucas Erceg to reach. Garza also uncorked a couple of wild pitches that allowed Erceg to move to 3rd, but he punched out Isan Diaz to end the game. I didn't mean punch out in the Rougned Odor sense of the term; he struck out Diaz.

Alvarez drew a bases-loaded walk in the 3rd and ripped an RBI double in the 5th to put Buies Creek in front. Anibal Sierra was the only man on either side with a multi-hit game, going 2-4 with a run scored.

Justin Ferrell gets the start in the series finale. He'll take on La Grange native Trey Supak at 7:00 Eastern.

Wisconsin 3, Quad Cities 2 in 13 innings

QC home runs: None.

The Banditos tied the game in the 8th and took the lead in the 11th, but the Timber Rattlers hit back for a run of their own in the bottom of the 11th and wound up walking off with the win.

Forrest Whitley pitched 5.1 innings and allowed an unearned run on 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. Kevin Hill struck out 4 over 3.2 scoreless; one runner reached on an error in the 8th. Dustin Hunt went 3.1 innings and allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, walked 4 (1 intentionally), and struck out 3.

Wander Franco put Quad Cities on the board with an RBI single in the 8th inning. Ronnie Dawson got plunked to begin the 11th, and Bryan De La Cruz drew a 1-out walk to join him on the bases. Dawson proceeded to steal 3rd (8) and scored on a wild pitch. Franco finished 2-5 on the night.

Quad Cities and Wisconsin will finish up this series at 7:05 as Carlos Sanabria faces Thomas Jankins.

Game 1: Connecticut 3, Tri-City 1

TC home runs: None.

Both teams scored in the same inning in game 1. The Tigers, however, scored more in their half.

The only two Tri-City hits in game 1 were singles from Kristian Trompiz and Randy Vasquez; Trompiz scored the ValleyCats' only run when Andy Piñeda grounded into a double play.

Ricardo Castro went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. Ben Smith worked around a couple of walks to throw a scoreless 6th, striking out 2.

Game 2: Connecticut 10, Tri-City 3

TC home runs: None.

The Tigers busted game 2 open with 3 in the 4th and 4 more in the 5th to sweep the twinbill.

Tri-City scored a run in each of the first three innings: Jake Adams opened the scoring with a sac fly in the 1st, Connor MacDonald scored on an error in the 2nd, and J.J. Matijevic hit an RBI single in the 3rd. Matijevic went 3-4 in game 2. Corey Julks was 2-2 with 2 walks, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base (3).

Tri-City's pitchers.... had a rough time in game 2. Honestly, that's really all that needs to be said. Brush it off and try again, guys.

Game 3 of the series starts at 7:05 Eastern.

Johnson City 6, Greeneville 3

Greeneville home runs: Roman Garcia (1, 2-run in 6th)

The Appy Astros' bats were stuck in the mud on Wednesday.

Roman Garcia launched a 2-run homer in the 6th, his first as a professional. Martin Figueroa hit an RBI single in the 8th. Gilberto Celestino finished 2-3 with a stolen base (2). Chas McCormick went 2-4 and has a hit in each of his first 4 games as a pro.

Tim Hardy allowed a run on 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1 in 2 innings. Adam Bleday was the first man out of the Greeneville bullpen and went 1.1 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 inherited runner charged to him) on 5 hits. Bryan Abreu was next, and he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5 in 4 innings. Dariel Aquino walked 1 and got the last two outs of the 8th.

Noel Pinto faces Edwar Martinez in game 2 of this series. First pitch is at 7:00 Eastern.

DSL Marlins 11, DSL Astros Blue 2

Well, at least they didn't get shut out.

Rhandall Sanchez spoiled the shutout with an RBI single in the 9th. Yorbin Ceuta went 2-3 and scored on a wild pitch soon after Sanchez put the Blue team on the board.

Denilson Lugo went 3.2 innings and allowed 4 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. Bryan Solano allowed 2 unearned runs, a hit, walked 2, and struck out 2 in 1.2 innings, and Jervic Chavez went 2.2 innings, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 4 hits, walking 1, and striking out 1.

DSL Cubs1 19, DSL Astros Orange 8

W- Keiber Arredondo (1-1)
L- Jesus Bernaez (1-2)

Orange home runs: Renaigel Martis (1, solo in 5th)

Maybe that 8-run 9th from the Cubs 1 on Tuesday was a sign of bad tidings to come for Team Orange.

Gerry Castillo ripped an RBI double in the 5th and cleared the bases with another double in the 6th. Jose Carrillo finished 3-5 and hit an RBI single in the 5th. Deury Carrasco and Luis Barajas also finished with 2 hits on the day.

Team Orange's pitchers struggled. I think I'll just leave it at that. Kelvin Perez, who is normally a catcher, worked out of a bases-loaded situation to throw a scoreless 9th, striking out 1.

Fresno 9, Sacramento 2

Fresno home runs: Max Stassi (4, solo in 6th), D.J. Fisher (16, 2-run in 8th)

David Martinez had a fine outing and D.J. Fisher continues his mastery of PCL pitching.

Martinez allowed an unearned run on 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3 in 7 innings of work. The only hit that Brian Holmes allowed in the 8th was a solo homer to Ryder Jones. Holmes also struck out 2 in the inning. Aaron West struck out 2 in a 1-2-3 9th.

Alejandro Garcia doubled to lead off the 3rd and scored Fresno's first run on a Tyler White groundout. The Grizzlies capitalized on a bases-loaded, no out situation to start the 5th and seized control of the game by scoring 4 runs in the inning. Tony Kemp hit an RBI single, then White followed with a sac fly, which prompted a Sacramento pitching change. Preston Tucker greeted the new pitcher with an RBI single, and Kemp wound up scoring when D.J. Fisher beat a double play attempt. Max Stassi smacked a homer to lead off the 6th, and finally, in the 8th inning, Garcia scored when Tucker grounded into a force play and Fisher capped it off with a 2-run shot.

Stassi reached in all 5 of his plate appearances, going 2-2 with 3 walks. White (2B, 2 RBI) and Fisher (2-R HR, 3 RBI) both went 2-4, and Garcia finished 3-4 with a double and 3 runs scored.

The next stop on Fresno's season-long roadtrip is El Paso. Dean Deetz takes on Zach Lee in game 1, which starts at 7:05 Mountain.

Corpus Christi 11, Frisco 6

W- Brock Dykxhoorn (1-3)

CC home runs: J.D. Davis 2 (16; grand slam in 4th, solo in 7th), Jason Martin (2, 9 season; 2-run in 7th)

The Hooks scored in fewer innings on Thursday, but they put up more runs in the innings which they scored.

Trent Woodward singled to lead off the 2nd, advanced to 3rd when Jack Mayfield hit into a double play attempt that Frisco botched, and scored Corpus Christi's first run on a wild pitch. Mayfield advanced to 3rd on a Jason Martin single. Martin then stole 2nd, and Jamie Ritchie hit a 2-run single to put the Hooks in front.

The Roughriders responded with 3 of their own in the top of the 4th to regain the lead, but Corpus responded with 5 in the bottom of the frame. Kyle Tucker drew a bases-loaded walk and J.D. Davis landed a haymaker when he launched a grand slam. Davis led off the bottom of the 7th with a solo blast and Martin capped off the scoring with a 2-run homer.

Davis (2 HR, 5 RBI), Martin (2-R HR, 2 R, SB), Ritchie (2 RBI), and Tony Nuñez (R) all finished with 2 hits on the evening.

Cy Sneed went 4.1 innings and allowed 6 runs on 8 hits (2 solos and a 3-run homer), walked 1, and struck out 4. The bullpen picked him up with 4.2 scoreless to close out the game. Jacob Dorris allowed a hit, but he got the final two outs of the 5th and spared Sneed from further damage. Brock Dykxhoorn allowed 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7 in 3.1 innings, and Ryan Thompson allowed a single to the first man he faced in the 9th, which loaded the bases, but he got the final two outs of the game without further incident.

Framber Valdez makes his Texas League debut tonight at 7:05. He'll go up against Yohander Mendez.

Wilmington 4, Buies Creek 3 in 15 innings

W- Franco Terrero (1-3)
L- Howie Brey (0-1)

BC home runs: None.

The Blue Rocks got a run in the bottom of the 9th to tie, and it took a while, but they also walked off with the win in the 15th.

Jake Rogers put Buies Creek on the board with a sac fly in the 6th and Myles Straw ripped a 2-run triple in the 7th. The two of them went 2-6 on the evening. Spencer Johnson and Pat Porter both had 3 hits and scored a run. Buies Creek left the bases loaded in the top of the 15th.

Walks doomed Jorge Alcala, who otherwise pitched well in his 4 innings. He allowed 2 runs (1 earned) and just 1 hit, but he also issued 6 walks while striking out 4. Sebastian Kessay was the first man out of the Carolina Stros' bullpen and threw a 1-2-3 5th inning. Yoanys Quiala tagged in for 4 innings and allowed the tying run (which was unearned) on 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. Nick Hernandez allowed 2 hits, walked 1, and fanned 2 over 3 scoreless. Howie Brey pitched 2.1 innings and allowed the winning run on 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1.

Framber Valdez was originally scheduled to start tonight's game... but he's in Corpus now. His replacement will face A.J. Puckett at 7:05 Eastern.

Wisconsin 8, Quad Cities 3

QC home runs: None.

The Banditos were foiled in their bid to sweep the series as the Timber Rattlers rattled off 7 of their 8 runs in a 4-inning span.

Dustin Hunt pitched 4 innings and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits (2 solo homers), walked 2, and struck out 1. Kevin Hill was the first man out of the Quad Cities bullpen and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 1.1 innings. Lucas Williams came on and pitched the final 2.2 innings following a 56-minute rain delay, allowing an unearned run on a wild pitch strikeout/error, a single, walked 1, and struck out 4.

Jonathan Arauz put Quad Cities on the board with an RBI triple in the 3rd and trotted home on a Daz Cameron double. Marcos Almonte drove in the River Bandits' other run with an RBI single in the 4th. Almonte, Ray Henderson, and Arauz all went 2-4 on the evening.

Quad Cities wraps up its tour of Wisconsin with 3 games in Beloit. First pitch is at 7:00.

DSL Astros Blue 8, DSL Red Sox 2

W- Fredis Guerrero (1-0)
L- Junior Figueroa (0-1)

Blue home runs: None.

The Blue team removed all doubts regarding the outcome of this game with 5 runs in the 8th.

Ozziel Sanchez-Galan opened the scoring with an RBI triple in the 1st and came home on a Ronny Rafael groundout. Yorbin Ceuta scored on a wild pitch in the 6th.

Rafael doubled to lead off the 8th and scored on an Anthony Rodriguez double. Rhandall Sanchez chipped in with an RBI single, and Yeuris Ramirez ripped an RBI double. Kendy Moya capped off the day with a 2-run triple. Rodriguez went 2-4 and was the only player on either side with a multi-hit game.

Nivaldo Rodriguez went 4 innings and allowed 2 unearned runs on 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. Gustavo Almonte worked around a hit to throw a scoreless 5th, striking out 1. Fredis Guerrero walked 1 and fanned 5 over 4 scoreless to get the win.

These two teams play again at the Red Sox complex at 10:30 AM Eastern.

DSL Dodgers2 6, DSL Astros Orange 4

Orange home runs: None.

The Orange team only allowed one scoring inning. Unfortunately, that was all the scoring the Dodgers needed.

Christian Mejias allowed 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2 in 4 innings. The 5th proved to be a nightmare as Carlos Quintero and Fredy Medina combined to issue 6 walks in the inning. Quintero bore the brunt as all 6 runs were charged to him; 3 were earned and 2 were inherited runners charged to him. He got 2 outs in the inning, allowing a hit and striking out 1. Medina got the final out, but not before allowing a hit and walking 2. Jose Alberto Rivera allowed 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3 in 3 innings.

Leonardo Gonzalez opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 3rd. In the 7th inning, Gerry Castillo ripped an RBI triple and scored on a Hector Martinez double. Martinez scored on a botched pickoff attempt.

Team Orange faces the Dodgers 2 again at 10:30 AM Eastern.
