Let's play two in the Dominican Republic!

El Paso 14, Fresno 9

W- Jose Valdez (3-3)
L- Kevin Comer (5-4)

Fresno home runs: Preston Tucker (21, solo in 4th)

Despite getting 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st before recording an out, the Grizzlies got battered on Monday by 4 El Paso home runs and were outscored 14-4 the rest of the way.

A.J. Reed opened the scoring by drawing a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 1st. Jack Mayfield and Jon Kemmer followed by walking in two more runs, which prompted a pitching change. Garrett Stubbs grounded into a force out that scored Reed, and Mayfield ended up scoring on an error. Reed ripped an RBI double in the 2nd inning, Stubbs hit an RBI single in the 3rd, and Tucker smacked a solo homer in the 4th. Mayfield scored on a Drew Ferguson groundout in the 7th inning. Mayfield (2B, RBI, 2 R) and Kemmer (2B, RBI, R) both finished 2-4.

It was not a banner night for the Fresno pitching staff, but Ashur Tolliver did retire the side in order in the 9th, getting two flyouts and a groundout.

It's Tuesday, so you know what that means... Taco Tuesday! Kent Emanuel takes on former Astro Jordan Lyles in game 2. First pitch is at 7:05 Pacific.

Corpus Christi was off

The Hooks will start a 3-game series against Tulsa at 7:05. Brock Dykxhoorn will take on Josh Sborz in game 1.

Buies Creek was off

Matt Bower will face Mike Shawaryn at 7:05 Eastern as the Carolina Stros kick off a 3-game series in Salem.

Quad Cities 8, Beloit 5

W- Carson LaRue (12-4)
L- Zack Erwin (5-3)

QC home runs: Abraham Toro-Hernandez (4, 10 season; solo in 2nd), Josh Rojas (9, solo in 5th), Chuckie Robinson (12, 2-run in 6th)

After the Snappers scored twice in the opening half-inning, the Banditos responded with 8 unanswered runs to seize control of this game. Beloit made things a little interesting late, but the Banditos were able to secure their 7th consecutive win.

Carson LaRue started things off and shook off those early runs to throw 5.1 innings, allowing 8 hits, walking 1, and striking out 7. Lucas Williams was the first man out of the Quad Cities bullpen and allowed a hit, walked 1, and struck out 4 in 1.2 innings of work. Dustin Hunt allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2 in the 8th, and Salvador Montaño pitched the 9th, allowing a run on a wild pitch, a double, walking 1, and striking out 2.

Abraham Toro-Hernandez led off the bottom of the 2nd with a homer to put the Banditos on the board. Daz Cameron followed by drawing a walk. He moved to 2nd base on a Josh Rojas single and scored on a Kristian Trompiz single. Ray Henderson kept the line moving with an RBI single, and Luis Payano drew a walk to load the bases. Ronnie Dawson struck out and Chuckie Robinson popped out in foul ground, but Troy Sieber came through with a single to bring Trompiz in.

Henderson added another RBI single to his ledger in the 3rd inning. Rojas led off the 5th with a homer, and after Dawson walked to lead off the 6th and advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch, Robinson launched his second 2-run homer in as many nights. Rojas (solo HR, 3 R) and Henderson (2B, 2 RBI) had 3 hits apiece, while Sieber (RBI) and Trompiz (RBI, R) both finished with 2 hits.

Cristian Javier takes on Seth Martinez as Quad Cities wraps up this series. First pitch is at 6:35.

Tri-City 4, Aberdeen 3

W- Reggie Johnson (5-0)
L- Jimmy Murphy (1-2)

TC home runs: None.

The ValleyCats took this game and the series thanks to a wild 8th inning. Aberdeen broke a 1-1 tie with a pair in the top half and Tri-City responded with 3 in the bottom half to take the lead.

No one in the lineup recorded an RBI. Corey Julks scored the ValleyCats' first run of the evening on a double play in the 2nd inning. J.J. Matijevic hit a one-out double in the bottom of the 8th and scored on an error that allowed Adrian Tovalin to reach.

Tovalin, who advanced to 2nd on the error, moved to 3rd on Colton Shaver's single and scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Shaver made way for Andy Piñeda, who stole 2nd (13), advanced to 3rd on the wild pitch that allowed Tovalin to score, and scored what turned out to be the winning run on an error that allowed Julks to reach. Shaver finished 2-4 on the evening.

Alex House and Hunter Martin started it off with 3 innings apiece. House allowed a homer to Mason McCoy to start the game, a double, and struck out 5. Martin allowed 2 hits and struck out 3. Parker Mushinski allowed 2 runs (1 earned), a bunt single, walked 3, and struck out 3 in 1.2 innings. Reggie Johnson retired all 4 Aberdeen hitters he faced and struck out 3 of them.

Tri-City will begin a 3-game series in Lowell at 6:35 Eastern.

Greeneville and Burlington was postponed

Due to rain. A doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 5:00 Eastern. Leovanny Rodriguez will face Nathan Webb in game 1. The second game will start 30 minutes following the conclusion of game 1; the Appy Astros' starter for that game is TBA.

Game 1: DSL Athletics 6, DSL Astros Blue 2

W- Alexander Calderon (3-1)
L- Jean Reyes (0-1)

Blue home runs: None.

Team Blue got their two runs in game 1 in the 5th inning: Leonardo Gonzalez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Kendy Moya followed by walking in another run. Gonzalez finished 2-2.

Jean Reyes allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 4 in 4 innings. Bryan Solano was the first man out of the bullpen in game 1 and went 2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, walking 2, and striking out 4. Angel Matos worked around a walk to throw a scoreless 7th.

Game 2: DSL Athletics 1, DSL Astros Blue 0

W- Livan Sanchez (1-1)
L- Angel Ortega (2-2)
S- Ruber Aquino (8)

Blue home runs: None.

The only hit that the Blue team could muster up in game 2 was a single from Yorbin Ceuta. Yeuris Ramirez walked twice, while Ronaldo Urdaneta stole 2 bases (21).

Angel Ortega went 4 innings and allowed the only run on 3 hits and struck out 1. Jervic Chavez walked 1 and struck out 2 over 2 scoreless.

Game 1: DSL Rangers1 2, DSL Astros Orange 1

W- Jesús Linares (5-1)
L- Fredis Guerrero (3-1)
S- Darel Torres (4)

Orange home runs: None.

The Orange team outhit the Rangers 12-6, but lost in the column that matters most.

Luis Barajas had a pinch-hit RBI single in the 7th. Fildex Perfecto scored, but Michael Garcia was thrown out at the plate to end the game as he attempted to score the tying run. Ramiro Rodriguez, Marco Van Der Wijst, and Deury Carrasco all finished 2-3.

Fredis Guerrero went 5 innings and allowed a run on 6 hits and fanned 4. Luis De Paula walked a batter in the 6th who eventually scored on... a throw from the outfield that went to the wrong target, I guess. De Paula also had a strikeout in the inning.

Game 2: DSL Rangers1 13, DSL Astros Orange 0

W- Sergio Suarez (3-1)
L- Elian Rodriguez (0-3)

Orange home runs: None.

Uhhh... the second game didn't go as well for Team Orange. I think I'll just leave it at that.

Astros Minor League Recaps

Results for Monday, April 24, 2017

Salt Lake 12, Fresno 9

W- Troy Scribner (2-0)
L- Keegan Yuhl (1-3)

Fresno home runs: Colin Moran (3, solo in 4th), Tyler White (1, 2-run in 9th)

The Grizzlies made things pretty interesting after getting demolished in the early going. They weren't able to erase a 9-0 deficit, though.

Colin Moran's solo homer in the 4th finally put Fresno on the board after the Bees scored the first 9 runs of the night. A.J. Reed added a 2-run single in the 5th inning. Moran hit a 2-run single in the 8th, and Reid Brignac drove in another run with a groundout. In the 9th, Reed hit and RBI single and came home when Tyler White clubbed a 2-run home run. Reed (3 RBI, 2 R), Moran (solo HR, 3 RBI, 2 R), and Preston Tucker all had two-hit games. Reed is looking to recover from a 1-18 slump and he's doing that pretty well; he's recorded a hit in 3 of his last 4 games.

Keegan Yuhl struggled in his 4 innings, and I'll leave it at that. Tyson Perez and Ryan Thompson both threw 2 innings with radically different results. Perez's two frames were scoreless; he allowed 3 hits and struck out 1. On the other hand, Thompson allowed 3 runs in the 8th after turning in a scoreless 7th. He allowed 6 hits and struck out 2. Andrew Aplin retired the side in order in the 9th.

Fresno and Salt Lake will wrap up their series with an early Taco Tuesday as Edison Frias takes on Alex Blackford at 11:05 AM Pacific.

Midland 9, Corpus Christi 0

W- Corey Walter (2-0)
L- Kyle Smith (0-1)
S- Brandon Mann (1)

CC home runs: None.

Sometimes you're the hammer... sometimes you're the nail. The Hooks, unfortunately, were the latter on Monday.

On offense, Corpus only got a pair of singles from Jack Mayfield and Jamie Ritchie.

Kyle Smith went 4.1 innings and allowed 5 runs (4 earned, 2 inherited runners charged to him) on 5 hits (solo homer), walked 2, and struck out 5. Eric Peterson was the first man out of the Hooks bullpen and went 2.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits (grand slam; 2 runs were charged to Smith), walking 1, and striking out 2. The three runs that Jacob Dorris allowed in his 1.1 innings of work all came on a home run hit by J.P. Sportman in the 8th inning. He allowed 4 other hits and struck out 3. Michael Freeman got the final two outs of the 9th, walking 1 and striking out 1.

Dean Deetz will face James Naile in game 2 of this series. First pitch is at 7:05.

Buies Creek was off

The Astros will wrap up their 14-game road trip with 3 games in Winston-Salem. Alex Winkleman will start game 1, and he'll face Max Beatty at 7:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities 14, Peoria 4

W- Ryan Hartman (2-0)
L- Bryan Dobzanski (0-2)

QC home runs: Ray Henderson-Lozano 2 (2, solo in 2nd, 2-run in 3rd), Jake Rogers (3, 2-run in 1st)

The Banditos took game 1 from the Chiefs with a show of power and a 6-run 3rd inning that featured a Little League home run.

Jake Rogers opened the scoring with a 2-run homer in the 1st inning. Ray Henderson-Lozano launched a solo homer, his first of the evening, in the 2nd.

Alex De Goti drew a 1-out walk that kickstarted Quad Cities' big 3rd inning. He advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch, stole 3rd when Rogers walked, and scored on a Stephen Wrenn infield single. Rodrigo Ayarza followed with an RBI single and an errant relay throw allowed him and Wrenn to score. Taylor Jones singled, which prompted Peoria to make a pitching change. Daz Cameron flew out for the second out of the inning, but Henderson capped off the scoring in the 3rd by smacking his second homer of the game to put the Banditos up 9-1.

Carmen Benedetti was the only player in the Quad Cities lineup to go hitless in this game, but he drew a bases-loaded walk in the 5th. The River Bandits finished off the onslaught with 4 more runs in the 6th: Daz hit an RBI single, Wrenn scored on a wild pitch, and Ronnie Dawson hit a 2-run single. Rogers (2B, 2-R HR, 3 R), Wrenn (RBI, 2 R), Ayarza (RBI, 2 R), and Henderson (2 HR) all finished with two hits on the night.

None of the three Quad Cities hurlers in this game had spectacular nights, but they did their job by not allowing the Chiefs to score more runs than their offense did. Hector Perez went 4.1 innings and allowed a run on 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. Ryan Hartman tagged in for 3.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits (solo homer), walking 2, and fanning 3. Lucas Williams allowed a solo homer to Tommy Edman in the 9th, which was the only hit he allowed in the frame. He struck out 1.

Dustin Hunt will go against Jordan Hicks in an early start. First pitch is at 11:00 AM.

W- Gerardo Concepcion (2-3)
L- Brendan McCurry (1-1, 3-5 season)
S- Spencer Patton (11)

Fresno home runs: Danny Worth (9, solo in 1st)

The Grizzlies managed to tie the game with 3 runs in the 6th... only to see the Cubs re-take the lead with a homer in the 7th.

Fresno was held to just 4 hits in this game; Danny Worth's solo homer in the 1st opened the scoring. In the 6th inning, Colin Moran led off with a single, and then Worth and Jon Kemmer drew walks to join him on the bases. Max Stassi drew a walk to bring in Moran. Jon Singleton followed with a sac fly, and Alejandro Garcia added an RBI single. Garcia finished 2-4 on the night.

Brad Peacock went 5.2 innings and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits (solo homer), walked 2, and struck out 7. Brendan McCurry was the first man out, and the two runs he allowed in his 2.1 innings came on a home run hit by Tim Federowicz in the 7th inning. McCurry allowed 2 other hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. Jordan Jankowski struck out 2 in a 1-2-3 9th inning.

Tonight, the Grizzlies will begin a 4-game series with Omaha, and Keegan Yuhl will get the start. First pitch is at 7:05 Pacific.

Corpus Christi was off

For the final time in 2016, the Hooks will embark on their tour of Arkansas. In the first leg of this tour, they'll start a 3-game series with Northwest Arkansas tonight at 7:05. Evan Grills will take on Ashton Goudeau.

High Desert 8, Lancaster 5

L- Josh James (9-4)
S- Clayton Cook (1)

Lancaster home runs: Myles Straw (1, led off game), Jason Martin (19, 2-run in 1st), Marc Wik (4, solo in 6th)

Both teams scored 3 runs in the 1st, but the JetHawks were largely quiet afterwards.

4 of Lancaster's 5 runs in this game scored on home runs. Myles Straw led off the game with his first home run as a pro. Later in the 1st inning, Jason Martin launched a 2-run homer. Johnny Sewald hit an RBI single in the 8th inning. Straw and Wik both finished 2-4 on the evening.

Josh James allowed 5 runs on 10 hits (solo homer), walked 4, and struck out 4 in 5.2 innings. Scott Weathersby pitched the final 2.1 innings and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits (2-run homer) and struck out 2.

Game 2 of this series will start at 7:05 Pacific.

Clinton 9, Quad Cities 3

W- Pedro Vasquez (2-2)
L- Yoanys Quiala (2-9)

QC home runs: Hector Roa (4, 2-run in 2nd), Anthony Hermelyn (4, solo in 2nd)

The Banditos had a 3-run 2nd inning.... unfortunately, that was the only inning in which they scored. The LumberKings finished this game on a 9-0 run.

Hector Roa opened the scoring with a 2-run homer, and Anthony Hermelyn followed by whacking a solo homer. Spencer Johnson and Ryne Birk both went 2-4.

Yoanys Quiala went 2.1 innings and allowed 6 runs (4 earned, 1 inherited runner charged to him) on 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. Zac Person tagged in for 4 innings and allowed 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1; he inherited a bases-loaded situation from Quiala, and one of the runners scored. Juan Carlos Santos pitched 1.2 innings and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, walked 2, and fanned 4.

Agapito Barrios will start game 2 of this series. He'll take on Pablo Lopez at 6:30.

The New York-Penn League All-Star game will take place tonight in Wappingers Falls, New York. First pitch is 5:35 Eastern. RHP Enrique Chavez, C Chuckie Robinson, and 1B Taylor Jones will represent the ValleyCats.

Kingsport 5, Greeneville 4

W- Jose Carlos Medina (2-1)
L- Jorge Guzman (0-2, 1-3 season)

Greeneville home runs: None.

The Appy Astros walked off with a loss to drop the Kingsport portion of the series.

Connor MacDonald put Greeneville on the board with an RBI single in the 4th inning. Reiny Beltre hit a one-out double in the 5th and wound up scoring on a passed ball to give Greeneville the lead. The K-Mets responded with 2 in the bottom of the 5th to regain the lead, but the Appy Astros scored 2 of their own in the 6th to go back in front. Frankeny Fernandez hit a one-out single, stole his way to 3rd, and scored on a wild pitch. Ray Henderson, who was at bat at the time, followed by ripping an RBI double. Henderson finished 2-4 on the night; after his two steals, Fernandez now has 13 on the year.

Carlos Sanabria went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. Jorge Guzman went 3.2 innings and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and struck out 7; the winning run scored with 2 outs in the 9th.

GCL Mets 3, GCL Astros 1

W- Jose Geraldo (1-0)
L- Leovanny Rodriguez (2-5, 3-5 season)
S- Ezequiel Zabaleta (1)

GCL home runs: None.

Both teams scored in the 2nd inning, but the Kissimmee Stros couldn't muster up any more runs. Wilson Amador's RBI single was it for them. Edgar Lorenzo finished 2-4.

Leovanny Rodriguez went 4 innings and allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and struck out 4. Enoli Paredes struck out 2 over 3 perfect innings, and Dariel Aquino allowed 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2 in 2 innings.

DSL Astros Orange 6, DSL Rangers2 2

The Orange team got RBI singles from Ramiro Rodriguez, Renaigel Martis, and Kendy Moya in the 6th, and Ramiro grounded into a force out that allowed Ronaldo Urdaneta to score in the 7th inning. Sacramento 6, Fresno 4

W- Steven Okert (4-2)
L- Kevin Chapman (2-4)
S- Jean Machi (2)

Fresno home runs: None.

The Tacos bullpen faltered late.

Brady Rodgers had a bare minimum quality start, allowing 9 hits, walking 2, and striking out 4. Jordan Jankowski struck out 2 in a 1-2-3 7th. It was a rough 8th inning for Kevin Chapman, as Sacramento scored 3 runs on 4 hits against him to take the lead in the inning. Chapman struck out 2. Jandel Gustave worked around 2 hits to throw a scoreless 9th.

Preston Tucker opened the scoring with an RBI double in the 1st inning. Both teams scored 2 runs in the 5th inning; Fresno's 2 runs came on a pair of RBI doubles from Tucker and Tyler White. Tony Kemp hit an RBI single in the 9th to pull a run back. Tucker (2 2B, 2 RBI, R), Kemp (RBI, 2 R, SB [8]), and Teoscar Hernandez (R) all finished with 2 hits on the evening.

Joe Musgrove will take on Clayton Blackburn in the series finale. First pitch is at 7:05 Pacific.

Tulsa 14, Corpus Christi 6

W- Tim Shibuya (1-5)
L- Keegan Yuhl (7-2)

CC home runs: Conrad Gregor (6, solo in 2nd), Jack Mayfield 2 (6, 8 season; solo in 8th, 2-run in 9th)

The Hooks dropped the series as they were buried by another late onslaught from the Drillers. Tulsa led 4-2 after the 5th inning, but they left Corpus in the dust afterwards, finishing the game on a 10-4 run.

In his first Texas League plate appearance, Garrett Stubbs hit an RBI single in the 1st inning to tie the game at 1. Conrad Gregor smacked a solo homer in the 2nd inning. Jack Mayfield led off the bottom of the 8th with a homer, and Gregor later added an RBI double to his ledger. Mayfield struck again in the 9th with a 2-run homer. Gregor and Mayfield both finished with 2 hits, as did Chase McDonald and Danry Vásquez.

Keegan Yuhl pitched 5 innings and allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits (solo homer) and struck out 6. Kyle Smith was the first man out of the Corpus Christi bullpen; he allowed 5 runs on 4 hits (3-run homer), walked 3, and struck out 1 in 2 innings. Michael Freeman and Aaron West both pitched an inning; Freeman allowed 3 runs in the 8th; all of them came on a 3-run home run hit by Cody Bellinger. Freeman allowed 3 other hits and struck out 2. West allowed 2 runs on 2 groundouts, a double, and walked 1 in the 9th.

After hosting Springfield and Tulsa, the Hooks will travel to those two cities for a couple of 3-game series. Their first stop is Springfield, and Cy Sneed will start the series opener. First pitch is at 6:30.

Visalia 10, Lancaster 6

W- Max Duval (1-0)
L- Brock Dykxhoorn (5-3)

Lancaster home runs: Jason Martin 2 (15; solo in 5th, solo in 6th)

An 8-1 deficit proved to be too much for the JetHawks to overcome.

Johnny Sewald put Lancaster on the board by drawing a bases-loaded walk in the 2nd inning. Jason Martin led off the 5th with a homer, and Lancaster proceeded to add 3 more runs in the inning as Brooks Marlow hit a 2-run double and came around to score on a single from Aaron Mizell. Martin struck again in the 6th with his 2nd solo shot of the game. Martin and Mizell had 2 hits apiece.

Tough night for Brock Dykxhoorn, who felt the brunt of the notorious Lancaster Effect in his 5 innings. He allowed 8 runs on 11 hits (solo and 2-run homers) and struck out 1. Kevin McCanna pitched the final 4 innings and allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2.

Josh James will start game 3 of this series. First pitch is at 6:35 Pacific.

Quad Cities 2, Beloit 1

W- Ralph Garza Jr. (3-3)
L- Rob Huber (1-3)

QC home runs: None.

Beloit scored a run in the top of the 8th to tie the game, but the Banditos immediately un-tied it by scoring in the bottom of the 8th. That run turned out to be the difference.

Osvaldo Duarte doubled to lead off the 4th inning. He advanced to 3rd on a Kyle Tucker infield single and scored the first run of the evening on a single from Pat Porter. Tucker hit a 2-out single in the 8th, and Connor Goedert and Porter eventually joined him on the bases after singling and getting hit by a pitch, respectively. Christian Correa drove in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded walk. Little Tuck and Goedert had 2 hits apiece.

Jose Luis Hernandez scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3 over 5 shutout innings. David Schmidt and Ralph Garza Jr. both pitched 2 innings; Schmidt faced 2 batters in the 8th, but did not retire either of them; the leadoff man singled and he also hit a batter. Schmidt had an inherited runner charged to him when Skye Bolt hit a sac fly against Garza. He walked 1 and struck out 1. Garza did not allow any runs of his own, although he allowed a single in the 9th inning.

In game 3 of this series, Yoanys Quiala will face Angel Duno. First pitch is at 7:00.

Tri-City 6, State College 5 in 12 innings

W- Sean Stutzman (1-0)
L- Max Almonte (0-1)

TC home runs: None.

According to the ValleyCats' game recap, this is the third time in the last four seasons that they've walked off with a victory on July 5. In this walk-off win, the ValleyCats erased a 5-1 deficit with 4 runs in the 9th and won it on a bases-loaded walk in the 12th inning.

Jake Rogers put Tri-City on the board with an RBI single in the 8th. The real fun began in the bottom of the 9th.

Ryne Birk led off with a double, and Daz Cameron and Ronnie Dawson joined him on the bases after hitting a single and getting hit by a pitch, respectively. Stephen Wrenn hit a 2-run single to cut the deficit to 5-3. Randy César laid down a sacrifice bunt, which allowed Dawson and Wrenn to advance a base, and Taylor Jones came through with a 2-run single to tie the game at 5.

Both teams were quiet in the extra innings, but Tri-City's top of the order sparked the winning rally in the bottom of the 12th. Birk reached on an error with 2 outs in the inning, and once again, Daz and Dawson loaded the bases with a walk and a single, respectively, and Wrenn won it by drawing ball four. César finished 2-3 and was the only player in the ValleyCats' lineup with a multi-hit game.

Ryan Hartman allowed 5 hits and struck out 1 over 4 scoreless innings. Dustin Hunt was the first man out of the bullpen, and in 3 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 5 hits (2-run homer), walked 2, and fanned 1. Chris Cotton struck out 1 in a 1-2-3 8th. Luis Ramirez allowed a run on 2 hits and walked 2 in the 9th inning, and Sean Stutzman threw 3 perfect innings to get the win, striking out 4.

Erasmo Pinales will start the final game of this series. He'll face Bryan Dobzanski at 7:00 Eastern.

Greeneville 10, Kingsport 3

W- Tyler Britton (2-1)
L- Jordan Humphreys (1-2)

Greeneville home runs: Vicente Sanchez (2, 3-run in 6th), Ray Henderson (1, 2-run in 8th)

The Appy Astros earned the split with a show of force.
