For the third time in this series, a game has ended in walk-off fashion. Unfortunately for the Express, they've squandered two chances to close out this series. Every game in this series has been decided by one run.

Drew Ferguson grounded into a force out in the 3rd and an error on the play allowed Ronnie Dawson to score. Ferguson wound up scoring on a single by Jack Mayfield. Mayfield hit another RBI single in the 8th and Taylor Jones added an RBI single of his own later in the inning. Mayfield and Chas McCormick both finished 2-5 on the night.

Cristian Javier pitched 4.1 innings and allowed two runs on four hits, walked three, and struck out nine. Brendan McCurry was the first man out of the Round Rock bullpen and he allowed two runs on two hits (solo homer), walked one, and struck out two in 1.2 innings. Dean Deetz allowed a hit, walked two, and struck out the side in a scoreless 7th. Ralph Garza Jr. tagged in for 3.2 innings and allowed the winning run with two outs in the 11th on a sac fly, a hit, walked three, and struck out four.

Forrest Whitley will start a deciding game five at 12:38. He will be opposed by Trevor Clifton.

Carolina League South Final: Down East 5, Fayetteville 4 (8 innings)

Down East leads series 2-1.

The Woodpeckers and Wood Ducks played another doubleheader as the Carolinas are still reeling from the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. Down East scored one in the 7th to tie and one more in the 8th to walk off with the win in the first game.

Jojanse Torres pitched 4.2 innings and allowed three runs on four hits (two-run homer), walked three, and struck out three. Humberto Castellanos allowed two runs (one earned, one inherited runner charged to him), a solo homer, and walked two in 2.2 innings. Riley Cabral couldn't get the final out of the 8th; he walked one and allowed the winning hit, a single.

All four of Fayetteville's runs in game one came via the homer; Jeremy Peña launched one to start the game and then Miguelangel Sierra (two-run) and Cal Stevenson (solo) went deep in the 5th. The three home run hitters all finished with two hits in game one.

Carolina League South Final: Fayetteville 7, Down East 2

Series tied 2-2.

Fayetteville home runs: None.

The Woodpeckers scored twice in the 4th and then went off for four in the 5th to nab a 6-0 lead as they forced a decisive game five.

Luis Garcia was solid once again as he allowed two runs on a pair of solo homers, three other hits, walked one, and struck out ten in six innings. Jacob Billingsley finished it off by striking out two in a 1-2-3 7th.

Ruben Castro opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 4th and then an interference call allowed David Hensley to score another run. Fayetteville loaded the bases to lead off the 5th and that's how they got their four runs in the inning. Castro hit another RBI single, Scott Manea walked Chandler Taylor in, and Michael Papierski hit a two-run single. They loaded the bases again in the 7th and Marty Costes got plunked to bring in another run. Castro and Hensley had three hits apiece, while Papierski went 2-4.

The fifth and final game of this series will start at 3:00 Eastern.

The E-Train came out on top to begin this crucial series.

José Urquidy and two relievers combined on the shutout. Urquidy started things off by allowing three hits, walking one, and striking out eight in 5.2 innings of work. Riley Ferrell was the first man out of the Round Rock bullpen and he walked three and struck out four in 2.1 innings and Ralph Garza allowed a hit and struck out one in the 9th to complete the shutout.

Chas McCormick ripped an RBI double in the 3rd to open the scoring. The Express went off for five in the 4th after loading the bases to lead off the inning. Alex De Goti hit into a fielder's choice that allowed Taylor Jones to score; an error on the play also allowed Nick Tanielu to come home. Ronnie Dawson hit a sac fly that scored Lorenzo Quintana. McCormick smacked an RBI triple and scored on Drew Ferguson's single. McCormick and Dawson both had two hits apiece.

Kent Emanuel goes up against Thomas Jankins in game two. First pitch is at 7:05.

Arkansas 5, Corpus Christi 2

For a while, the Hooks were on the wrong end of a perfect game. Unfortunately, Corpus also dropped their third game in a row, dropping their elimination number to four. They basically might have to win out and hope Midland and Frisco stumble along the way.

Bryan de la Cruz quashed the Travs' perfect game bid when he tripled to lead off the 7th. He wound up scoring on J.J. Matijevic's groundout. De La Cruz, who went 2-4, drove in Corpus Christi's other run with an RBI single in the 8th.

Brandon Bailey went four innings and allowed three runs on five hits (two-run homer) while striking out eight. Willy Collado was the first man out of the Hooks bullpen and he allowed an unearned run on five hits and struck out one in 2.1 innings. Tommy DeJuneas tagged in for 1.2 innings and allowed a run on a wild pitch, walked two, and out two. Nick Hernandez walked one and struck out two in a scoreless 9th.

Enoli Paredes will take on Ian McKinney in game two. First pitch is at 6:15.

Fayetteville 4, Carolina 3

Fayetteville home runs: Chandler Taylor (12, 2-run in 1st)

The Woodpeckers took over the second-half lead in the Carolina League's Southern division behind a strong outing from Luis Garcia.

Chandler Taylor whacked a two-run homer in the 1st and David Hensley ripped a two-run double in the 5th. Taylor finished 3-4 on the night while Hensley and Miguelangel Sierra had two hits apiece. Michael Papierski went 0-3 with a couple of strikeouts, but he also drew a couple of walks and scored two of the four Fayetteville runs.

Garcia walked four and struck out ten over five shutout innings. Leovanny Rodriguez pitched 1.2 innings and allowed three runs on three hits, walked two, and struck out two. César Rosado tagged in for 1.1 innings, walking one and striking out one. Riley Cabral allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out the side in the 9th to get the save.

Shawn Dubin will take on Wuilder Rodriguez in game two of this series. First pitch is at 7:00 Eastern.

Kane County 8, Quad Cities 1

Quad Cities got on the board first... and then Kane County scored all of the other runs in this game.

Trey Dawson's RBI single in the 1st was the Banditos' lone scoring play. He and Freúdis Nova both finished 2-4.

R.J. Freure went 5.1 innings and allowed five runs (four earned, two inherited runners charged to him) on seven hits, walked two, and struck out three. Devin Conn was the first man out of the Banditos bullpen and he allowed three runs (one earned) of his own on five hits, walked one, and struck out one. Luis de Paula struck out the side in order in the 9th.

José Alberto Rivera will start the series finale and he'll take on Matt Tabor at 6:35.

Staten Island 8, Tri-City 0

Corpus Christi 7, Frisco 3

CC home runs: Jake Adams (19, solo in 5th)

The Hooks used a five-run 3rd to propel them to the victory.

Corpus got their five in the 3rd without an extra-base hit. Stephen Wrenn, Colton Shaver, and Jake Adams all hit RBI singles and Chuckie Robinson hit a two-run single; Robinson was thrown out at second to end the inning but the damage was done. Wrenn grounded into a force out in the 4th and an error on the play allowed Osvaldo Duarte to score. Adams clubbed a solo shot in the 5th. He finished 3-3 on the night and has homered in four straight games. Shaver and Robinson both finished 2-4.

Brandon Bailey shined in his five innings as he allowed just one hit, walked one, and struck out nine in a scoreless outing. Brett Conine threw a scoreless 6th in his Texas League debut. Frisco loaded the bases on him to start the 7th but he emerged from the inning with just one run allowed. Conine allowed the one run on three hits and walked two. Andre Scrubb got the 8th but only got two outs; he allowed two runs on five hits and struck out one. Colin McKee got the four-out save as he inherited a bases-loaded situation from Scrubb and got him out of there without incurring any further damage. McKee allowed a hit, walked two, and struck out two in 1.1 innings.

Tyler Ivey will get the start for Corpus as they look to sweep Frisco out of South Texas. He'll face Collin Wiles at 6:15.

Fayetteville 8, Down East 2

Fayetteville home runs: Scott Schreiber (10, 2-run in 4th), Scott Manea (9, solo in 6th)

The two Scotts homered, Luis Garcia dominated, and the Woodpeckers made it two out of two over the Wood Ducks in this series.

Garcia allowed a run on three hits, one of which was a solo homer, walked one, and struck out a career-high 13 in six innings of work. J.P. France tagged in for two innings and allowed a run on a solo homer, two other hits, walked one, and struck out two. Tanner Duncan worked around a walk to throw a scoreless 9th, striking out one.

Garcia's 13 strikeouts also set a new Fayetteville franchise record and the 16 strikeouts recorded by Wednesday's trio of pitchers gave the Woodpeckers' pitching staff the Carolina League's single-season record for strikeouts.

Chandler Taylor opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 1st. After the Wood Ducks tied the game in the 3rd, Scott Schreiber put Fayetteville back in front by launching a two-run homer in the 4th. Scott Manea sent one out for a solo homer in the 6th. The Woodpeckers finished off the Wood Ducks with four in the 8th as Taylor added another RBI single to his ledger, Enmanuel Valdez hit a two-run single with the bases loaded, and Schreiber capped off the night with an RBI single. Taylor, Valdez, and Schreiber all finished 2-4 on the night. Manea and Ross Adolph scored two runs apiece.

Shawn Dubin gets the start as the Woodpeckers look for the sweep. He'll take on Scott Engler at 7:00 Eastern.

Beloit 6, Quad Cities 2

QC home runs: Oscar Campos (3, 2-run in 4th)

The Banditos managed to get to within a run of the Snappers, but Beloit managed to pull away.

Oscar Campos smacked a two-run homer in the 4th to put Quad Cities on the board; that was also their first hit of the game.

Jonathan Bermúdez labored through five innings as he allowed four runs on ten hits, walked two, and struck out six. Luis de Paula was the first man out of the Banditos' bullpen; he went three innings and allowed a two-run single, walked three, and struck out two. Layne Henderson struck out one in a 1-2-3 9th.

José Alberto Rivera gets the start in game two and he'll go against Chase Cohen at 6:35.

Aberdeen 5, Tri-City 4

A three-run homer in the 8th turned this game in Aberdeen's favor.

Manny Ramirez started things off by allowing a hit, walking two, and striking out four over four scoreless. Danny Cody was the first man out of the Tri-City bullpen and he allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and struck out two in two innings. Blair Henley pitched 2.2 innings and he allowed six hits, which included that go-ahead three-run blast, and struck out five. Michael Horrell recorded the final out of the 9th with a strikeout.

Three of Tri-City's four runs in this game scored on groundouts. Korey Lee opened up the scoring with one in the 1st inning. Matt Barefoot ripped an RBI double in the 3rd and then Luis Guerrero and Lee followed with RBI groundouts. Nate Perry finished 2-4; Bryan Arias scored twice.

Angel Macuare will face Ryan Conroy in game two of this series. First pitch is at 7:00 Eastern.

GCL Nationals 8, GCL Astros 5 (11 innings)

GCL home runs: Nerio Rodriguez (2, 2-run in 1st), Dexter Jordan (1, solo in 7th)

The Nationals broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the 11th by scoring three runs.

Nerio Rodriguez smacked a two-run homer in the 1st to open the scoring. The Palm Beach 'Stros got two more in the 6th as Yefri Carrillo scored on a wild pitch and Rainier Rivas hit an RBI single. Dexter Jordan hit the first home run of his pro career, a solo shot, in the 7th inning. Rivas finished 2-5 on the day.

Chandler Casey and Fredy Medina started things off with one inning apiece; Casey threw a 1-2-3 1st inning and Medina allowed a run on two hits, walked one, and struck out two in the 2nd. Elián Rodriguez and Whit Drennan followed with two innings apiece. Rodriguez allowed four unearned runs on two hits, walked three, and struck out three, while Drennan allowed two hits and struck out two in a scoreless outing. Kevin Dickey was next and he allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out five in 2.1 scoreless innings and Jervic Chavez allowed three runs (two earned) on two hits and struck out four in 2.2 innings.

DSL Braves 7, DSL Astros 6

The Braves nipped the Dominican 'Stros with a run in the 9th to break a 6-6 tie.

After the Braves scored two runs in the top of the 2nd, the Astros got a pair of two-run homers from Freddy Guilamo and Ayendy Ortiz. For the two of them, it was their first home runs as pros. Guilamo scored on a sac fly from Andrés Monzón in the 4th and Omar Díaz scored another run when he stole home as part of a double steal with Ortiz. Guilamo and Díaz scored two runs apiece.

Jeremy Molero went four innings and allowed two runs on two hits, walked one, and struck out five. Daniel Bello and Cristofer Mezquita both pitched two innings; Bello allowed four runs (one earned) on three hits, walked two, and struck out three, while Mezquita allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out five. Ronny Garcia allowed an unearned run on an error, a hit, and walked one in the 9th.

32 runs, 38 hits, eight home runs... just another night in Triple-A.

Everyone in Round Rock's lineup recorded at least one hit. Alex De Goti hit for the cycle; he and Kyle Tucker launched two home runs. The E-Train scored in every inning.

José Urquidy didn't have much fun on the mound but fortunately, the offense and the bullpen picked him up. Brendan McCurry was the first man out of the Express bullpen and he walked three and struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings. Brad Peacock threw a 1-2-3 7th inning and Ralph Garza Jr. allowed a solo homer and struck out three over the final two innings.

Kent Emanuel will take on Jerry Keel in game two of this series. First pitch is at 7:05 Mountain.

Frisco 5, Corpus Christi 2

CC home runs: Osvaldo Duarte (12, solo in 1st)

The Hooks were held to just two hits as they dropped this series in the Metroplex.

Osvaldo Duarte scored both of Corpus Christi's runs in this game; he whacked a solo homer in the 1st and scored on an error that allowed Colton Shaver to reach in the 6th inning.

Brett Adcock went 1.2 innings and allowed five runs on four hits (solo homer), walked two, and struck out three. Carlos Sanabria was the first man out of the Corpus bullpen and he struck out four in 2.1 innings; one of his strikeout victims struck out on a ball in the dirt and managed to reach base safely. Colin McKee and Andre Scrubb pitched two scoreless innings apiece; McKee walked two and struck out two and Scrubb walked one and struck out three.

Brandon Bailey gets the start for Corpus in the opener of a four-game series in Midland. He'll face Kyle Friedrichs at 7:00.

Fayetteville 13, Wilmington 5

Fayetteville home runs: Miguelangel Sierra (10, 2-run in 2nd)

The Woodpeckers blew this game wide open with nine runs in the 8th. Wilmington responded with three runs in the 9th but the 11-run cushion proved to be comfortable enough.

Luis Garcia turned in a fine outing as he allowed just two hits, walked three, and struck out ten over six shutout innings; the ten punchouts tie a career-high. Joey Gonzalez went two innings and he allowed two runs on three hits, walked one, and struck out three. Riley Cabral got the 9th and allowed two hits, one of which was a three-run homer, walked one, and struck out the side.

Miguelangel Sierra opened the scoring in the 2nd by whacking a two-run homer. Fayetteville got two more in the 3rd on a pair of RBI singles from Michael Papierski and Scott Manea. The real fun began in the 8th.

Cal Stevenson and Papierski walked to lead off the inning and then Fayetteville got three consecutive RBI singles from Ross Adolph, Chandler Taylor, and Manea. Sierra added an RBI double to his ledger and then David Hensley and Scott Schreiber followed with RBI singles. Hensley and Schreiber both advanced on a passed ball and Stevenson drew another walk to load the bases for Papierski, who hit an RBI single. Schreiber scored when Adolph beat a double play attempt and Stevenson capped off the inning by scoring on a wild pitch.

Stevenson was the only player in the Woodpeckers' lineup to go hitless, but he did score twice in the 8th. In fact, everyone in the lineup scored a run. Manea finished 3-4 on the night while Sierra and Schreiber both finished 2-4 with two runs scored.

J.P. France will go up against Kris Bubic in the series finale. First pitch is at 7:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities 4, Clinton 3

QC home runs: Wilyer Abreu (2, 3-run in 2nd)

The Banditos, doing business as the Quad Cities Treasure Hunters on Tuesday, staved off a comeback attempt from the LumberKings to take the opener of this series.

Wilyer Abreu launched a three-run homer in the 2nd to open the scoring and Oscar Campos ripped an RBI double in the 4th. Campos finished 2-3 on the night.

Felipe Tejada walked one and struck out three over three scoreless innings. Luis de Paula was the first man out of the Quad Cities bullpen and he allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out four in two scoreless innings. Lupe Chavez got the last four innings and he allowed three runs on five hits, walked two, and struck out six.

The Banditos and LumberKings will continue their series at 6:35 as Jonathan Bermúdez takes on Remey Reed.

Tri-City 3, Lowell 2

The Spinners scored twice in the 8th to take the lead... only for the ValleyCats to walk off with the win in the bottom of the 9th. That's now six straight victories for Tri-City.

Peyton Battenfield and Derek West started things off with three scoreless innings apiece. Battenfield allowed one hit, walked one, and struck out three; West also allowed a hit and walked one and also struck out five. Hunter Brown tagged in for two innings and he allowed two runs on three hits while striking out three. Shea Barry allowed a hit in a scoreless 9th.

Yeuris Ramirez reached on an error in the 7th which allowed C.J. Stubbs to score the game's first run. Nate Perry drew a walk with one out in the 9th and Juan Ramirez came on to pinch-run for him. Juan advanced to second on a wild pitch and Stubbs joined him on the bases after drawing a walk. Luis Santana grounded into a force out and just narrowly beat a game-ending double play. Yeuris tied the game with an RBI single and Santana scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

Tri-City will now start a new series with Hudson Valley and they'll kick it off with a doubleheader starting at 5:05 Eastern. This is to make up a game that was originally scheduled for July 6.

DSL Royals1 6, DSL Astros 0

Tough afternoon for the Dominican 'Stros as the Royals put the clamps on them.

The only hits they mustered up were singles from Omar Díaz, Ricardo Balogh, and Ayendy Ortiz.

Danny Subero pitched 1.1 innings and allowed three runs on three hits, walked four, and struck out one. Luis Vega was the first man out of the DSLStros' bullpen and he allowed a hit and struck out three over 2.1 scoreless innings. Miguel Padilla allowed an RBI triple, walked two, and struck out one in 1.1 innings. Round Rock 11, Oklahoma City 2

The E-Train went off with eight in the 4th as they avoided the sweep in Oklahoma.

Brandon Bielak turned in six solid innings of one-run ball. He allowed four hits, one of which was a solo homer, walked one, and struck out eight. Colin McKee, Felipe Paulino, and Kent Emanuel all threw one inning to close it out. McKee allowed a solo homer and struck out one in the 7th, Paulino got two fly ball outs and a pop out in a 1-2-3 8th, and Emanuel finished things off by getting three groundouts in a 1-2-3 9th.

Alex De Goti opened the scoring with a two-run single in the 3rd inning. The real fun started one inning later.

Taylor Jones led off the 4th with an infield single. Drew Ferguson flew out, but Chas McCormick singled and Nick Tanielu walked to load the bases for Garrett Stubbs... who popped out in foul territory. It all fell to Jamie Ritchie, who came through with a two-run single and then an error on the play allowed Tanielu to score. Ritchie advanced to third on the play and he scored on a Josh Rojas single. Rojas stole second and then Alex De Goti joined him on the bases by drawing a walk. Jack Mayfield brought Rojas home with a double and in his second plate appearance of the inning, Jones clubbed a three-run home run. Rojas walked to lead off the 8th; he advanced on a balk and scored the final run of the day on a double from Jones.

Rojas finished 2-5 with a stolen base and scored three times. Ritchie also had two hits on the afternoon and Jones finished a triple shy of the cycle, driving in four.

The start of this week is the Triple-A All-Star break. The 2019 Triple-A All-Star Game will take place on Wednesday in El Paso and pits the best of the Pacific Coast League against their counterparts from the International League. Kyle Tucker will represent the Express on the PCL team.

Corpus Christi 6, Midland 2

CC home runs: Lorenzo Quintana 2 (10; solo in 8th, walk-off grand slam in 9th), Ronnie Dawson (14, solo in 8th)

The Hooks scored all six of their runs in the final two innings to stun the Hounds in walk-off fashion and taking the series in the process.

Brandon Bailey started things off by allowing three hits, walking two, and striking out four in three innings. Carlos Sanabria was the first man out of the Corpus bullpen and he threw two innings, walking one and striking out one. Bryan Abreu pitched three innings and allowed two runs on four hits, walked three, and struck out two. And finally, Riley Ferrell worked around a walk to throw a scoreless 9th, striking out one.

Corpus tied the game in the 8th on a pair of solo homers from Lorenzo Quintana and Ronnie Dawson and won it in the 9th when Quintana launched a walk-off grand slam. Dawson and Quintana finished with two hits on the evening, along with Bryan de la Cruz, Granden Goetzman, and Stephen Wrenn.

The Hooks will make a return trip to Frisco on Monday for another edition of the Lone Star Series in the Texas League. Cristian Javier will start the opener and he'll take on Ronald Herrera at 7:05.

Potomac 4, Fayetteville 3

Fayetteville home runs: Ross Adolph (7, solo in 7th)

The Nationals scored in more innings than the Woodpeckers. They also walked off with the victory.

Chandler Taylor opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 1st. Jonathan Arauz added a sac fly in the 3rd and Ross Adolph connected on his first Carolina League home run in the 7th. Taylor finished 2-4 on the night.

Luis Garcia went five innings and allowed two runs on three hits, walked four, and struck out seven. Humberto Castellanos allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits, one of which was the walk-off solo homer. He also struck out three.

Shawn Dubin starts game two of this series. First pitch is at 7:05 Eastern.

Cedar Rapids 5, Quad Cities 2

Cedar Rapids took control of this game by scoring twice in the 6th inning.

Carlos Machado grounded into a force out in the 3rd and an error on the play allowed César Salazar to score. Freúdis Nova drove in a run with a groundout in the 8th. Oscar Campos finished 2-4.

José Bravo allowed three runs on five hits (solo homer), walked two, and struck out six in 5.2 innings of work. Hunter Martin and Devin Conn pitched 1.2 innings apiece; Martin had an inherited runner charged to him and allowed a hit, and walked three. Conn allowed a run on a sac fly, a single, walked three, and struck out two.

Felipe Tejada will get the start as the Banditos look to avoid the sweep. He'll face Austin Schulfer at 6:35.

It all unraveled on the ValleyCats when the Cyclones scored four in the 6th.

Blair Henley allowed two hits and struck out three over three scoreless innings in his New York-Penn League debut. Jayson Schroeder was the first man out of the Tri-City bullpen and he allowed four runs (one earned) on five hits, walked three, and struck out one in 2.2 innings. Shea Barry inherited two runners from Schroeder and he stranded them both. Barry went 2.1 innings and allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out three. Garrett Gayle allowed two runs on two hits, walked two, and struck out one in the 9th.

A.J. Lee singled in the 1st, advanced to second on a balk, moved to third on Nathan Perry's groundout, and scored the first run of the night on another balk. Luis Santana ripped a double in the 2nd and scored on a triple from Bryan Arias. A.J. Lee finished 2-3 and stole a base, his ninth of the season.

Angel Macuare will start game two of this series. First pitch is at 7:00 Eastern.

GCL Astros 6, GCL Cardinals 3

After an 0-6 start, the Palm Beach 'Stros have clawed their way to .500.

They fell behind 3-0 after the first half-inning but got right back into it with two runs in the bottom of the 1st. Yimmi Cortabarria hit an RBI single and he scored when Yeuris Ramírez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Adonis Giron led off the 4th with a homer to tie the game at 3 and Cortabarria put the GCL squad in front by ripping an RBI double. In the 5th, Rolando Espinosa hit an RBI single and he scored when Gerry Castillo grounded into a force out. Giron and Cortabarria both finished 2-4 on the day.

Jairo Lopez shook off that tough 1st to go five innings. He allowed three runs on four hits, walked two, and struck out five. The bullpen closed it out with four scoreless. Kevin Dickey allowed a hit, walked three, and struck out two in 2.2 innings and Christian Mejías walked one and struck out two in 1.1 innings.

The E-Train scored three runs in the 9th to snatch this game from the Missions' grasp.

José Urquidy threw six shutout innings, allowing five hits, walking two, and striking out nine. Urquidy became the first pitcher in the system to strike out 100 batters this season. Ralph Garza Jr., Reymin Guduan, and Felipe Paulino all pitched an inning. Garza got the 7th and he allowed three hits, one of which was a two-run homer, and struck out two. Guduan walked one and struck out the side in the 8th, and Paulino allowed a hit and struck out the side in the 9th to earn the save.

Jack Mayfield opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 6th inning. Nick Tanielu smacked a one-out double in the 9th, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored the tying run on Josh Rojas' double. Rojas advanced to third on a wild pitch and after A.J. Reed was intentionally walked, he scored the go-ahead run when Jamie Ritchie hit into a fielder's choice. Chas McCormick hit an RBI single for insurance.

The Express and Missions will play game three of this series at 7:05.

Corpus Christi was off

The Hooks will start a four-game series in Amarillo tonight at 7:05.

The Banditos took this game by withstanding a five-run 4th from the Bees and getting some Houdini-esque escapes from José Alberto Rivera on the mound.

José Bravo allowed five runs on seven hits and struck out seven in four innings of work. Rivera got the last five innings and allowed four hits, walked four, and struck out six. He got out of a bases-loaded, no out jam in the 6th unscathed and then stranded two runners in scoring position in the 7th. A caught stealing got Rivera out of the 8th and he managed to strand two runners to end the game.

Jeremy Peña opened the scoring by whacking a solo homer in the 3rd and Oscar Campos drove in another run by ripping an RBI double. Quad Cities scored three times in the 5th on a wild pitch that allowed Michael Wielansky to score, an Austin Dennis sac fly, and an RBI single from Campos. Peña scored on an error in the 7th and Alex McKenna drove in a run with a groundout in the 8th. Campos went 3-4 on the evening. Peña (solo HR, 3 R, SB) and Ross Adolph (2B, 2 R) both finished 2-4 on the night.

Felipe Tejada takes on Robinson Pina as this series shifts to the Quad Cities for the final two games. First pitch is at 6:35.

The ValleyCats tied up game one with a run in the 7th... only to see the Spinners walk off with the victory after scoring in the first extra frame.

Preston Pavlica launched a solo homer in the 7th, his first pro home run, which ended up being the ValleyCats' only scoring play in this game. E.P. Reese and Nathan Perry had two hits apiece.

Jayson Schroeder went four innings and allowed a run on six hits, walked two, and struck out three. Miguel Figueroa was the first man out of the Tri-City bullpen in game one and he was excellent as he walked one and struck out three over three scoreless. Hansel Paulino allowed the game-winning hit, a single, to lead off the 8th.

Game 2: Lowell 7, Tri-City 0

TC home runs: None.

The ValleyCats were swept in the doubleheader as they were shut out in game two.

All they got on offense in game two was a Juan Paulino single. Paulino also stole a base, his fourth of the season.

Christian Mejías went 3.2 innings and allowed a run on three hits, walked two, and struck out a career-high ten batters. Michael Horrell got Mejías out of a predicament to end the 4th and he went on to pitch 1.2 innings, allowing three runs (two earned, two inherited runners charged to him) on two hits, walking one, and striking out two. Shea Barry got the final two outs in the 6th inning and he allowed three unearned runs, a bases-clearing triple, and walked two. I think he'd like a do-over for his professional debut.

Angel Macuare gets the start in the series finale and he'll face Yusniel Padrón-Artilles at 7:05 Eastern.

GCL Mets 11, GCL Astros 6

GCL home runs: Colin Barber (1, solo in 5th), Nerio Rodriguez (1, solo in 8th)

The Palm Beach 'Stros scored three in the top of the 8th to tie this game at 6... and then the Mets regained control by scoring five in the bottom of the 8th.

Brayan de Paula pitched four innings and allowed two runs on two hits (solo homer), walked two, and struck out four. Diosmerky Taveras was next and he allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits, walked two, and struck out two. Whit Drennan and Jherson Pereira both pitched an inning. Well, Drennan came on for the 8th but he failed to record an out in that inning. He allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and struck out one. Jherson Pereira took ownership of the 8th and allowed four runs (one earned) a hit, walked two, and struck out one.

Nerio Rodriguez singled in the 1st and an error on the play allowed Colin Barber to score. Barber launched his first career home run in the 5th and Nerio followed with an RBI single. Nerio smacked a homer to lead off the 8th and then the GCL squad got two more runs in the inning as Yeuris Ramirez scored on an error following a Yefri Carrillo single. Carrillo came home on a double from José Álvarez. Nerio finished 4-5 on the afternoon and Barber went 2-3.

The Astros will take on the Cardinals at noon Eastern.

The Dominican 'Stros rally fell just short.

Yohander Martinez scored the DSL squad's first run of the day by stealing home in the 6th. Ricardo Toro hit an RBI single in the 8th and he came around to score on a double from Andrés Monzón.

Fabricio Reina pitched two innings and allowed two runs on a double play and a wild pitch, a single, walked one, and struck out one. Edinson Batista and Daniel Pacheco pitched three innings apiece. Batista walked two and struck out six while Pacheco allowed two runs on three hits, walked one, and struck out three.

The Astros will host the Red Sox 1 at 11:30 AM Atlantic.
