RR home runs: Chas McCormick (13, solo in 5th)

The Express, doing business as the Chupacabras, held off a comeback bid from the Redbirds, who were also assuming their Copa alter-ego, the Memphis Música.

Kyle Tucker and Drew Ferguson hit RBI singles in the 1st and the 3rd respectively and Chas McCormick homered to lead off the 5th. McCormick added an RBI single to his ledger in the 7th and he came around to score Round Rock's final run of the evening on a single from Abraham Toro. McCormick scored three of the five Round Rock runs in this one and also stole two bases.

Framber Valdez went 7.1 innings and allowed four runs on four hits (two-run homer, two inherited runners charged to him), walked three, and struck out eight. Ralph Garza Jr. allowed four hits and struck out one over the final 1.2 innings.

José Urquidy takes on Daniel Ponce de León at 6:35.

Corpus Christi was off

The Hooks are in Little Rock as they'll begin a three-game series with Arkansas at 7:10. Brett Conine will make his first Texas League start and he'll face Ricardo Sanchez.

Fayetteville was off

The Woodpeckers are in Kinston, where they will start a three-game series with Down East at 7:00 Eastern.

Cedar Rapids 6, Quad Cities 2

QC home runs: None.

Both teams scored twice in the 2nd inning, but the Kernels got four in the 5th to take control.

Trey Dawson went 2-4 with a two-run single in the 2nd and stole a base.

Jonathan Bermúdez went four innings and allowed two runs on four hits, walked two, and struck out four. Felipe Tejada came out for the 5th but he only got two outs and got rocked for four runs on four hits and also walked three. Layne Henderson allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out two over 2.2 scoreless and Luis de Paula walked one and struck out two in 1.2 innings.

Matt Ruppenthal will start the series finale. He'll face Kody Funderburk at 6:35.

Brooklyn 5, Tri-City 0

W- Corey Gaconi (4-1)
L- Ryan Gusto (0-1)

TC home runs: None.

The ValleyCats entered their All-Star break by getting swept out of Brooklyn.

Korey Lee had a couple of base hits.

Ryan Gusto and Christian Mejías pitched three innings apiece. Gusto started things off by allowing two runs on four hits, walking two, and striking out two. Mejías allowed three runs on four hits (solo and two-run homers) and struck out three. Jairo Lopez walked one and struck out three over two scoreless.

The 2019 New York-Penn League All-Star Game will take place tomorrow at 6:00 Eastern in Staten Island. Nate Perry, Juan Paulino, and Peyton Battenfield will represent the ValleyCats.

GCL Astros

The Palm Beach 'Stros split a doubleheader with their complex mates, the Nationals, winning game one 4-3 and dropping the second game by a score of 6-2.

In game 1, Nerio Rodriguez ripped a two-run double in the 4th and then in the 5th, Gerry Castillo hit an RBI single and came home on Yimmi Cortabarria's double.

Franklin Pinto hit a two-run double in game two.

DSL Dodgers Bautista 10, DSL Astros 4

DSL home runs: None.

The Dodgers' Bautista team put this game away with four runs in the 7th.

Carlos Hurtado ripped an RBI double in the 6th. The Dominican 'Stros' other three runs came on wild pitches; Roilan Machandy scored on one in the 1st, Andrés Monzón scored on another before Hurtado's double in the 6th, and Cristian Gonzalez came home on another one in the 7th.

The Express, doing business as the Round Rock Chupacabras, withstood a big night from San Antonio outfielder Troy Stokes Jr. as they took the series from their I-35 rivals.

Yordan Alvarez scored the first run of the night when Taylor Jones grounded into a double play in the 2nd inning. Kyle Tucker launched a two-run homer in the 3rd and A.J. Reed broke a 3-3 tie with a solo shot in the 6th. Jack Mayfield finished 2-4.

Ryan Hartman went five innings and allowed a run on four hits, walked one, and struck out five. Ralph Garza Jr. was the first man out of the Round Rock bullpen and the one hit he allowed in his three innings was a two-run homer hit by Stokes, who drove in all three of San Antonio's runs in this game. Ronel Blanco escaped a bases-loaded predicament to get the save; he allowed a hit, walked two, and struck out one in the 9th.

The Express will head to Nashville to play six games. One of them is a game that began on April 18 but was suspended due to the weather. Cionel Pérez will start game one and he'll face Ronald Herrera at 6:35.

Frisco 7, Corpus Christi 2

The Roughriders pulled away on Friday night... Corpus had ten hits but only had two runs to show for it.

Abraham Toro went 2-3 and opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 1st inning. Josh Rojas finished 3-5 and ripped an RBI double in the 2nd.

Carson LaRue allowed six runs on ten hits, walked one, and struck out two in five innings. Layne Henderson and Hunter Martin both threw two innings out of the bullpen. Henderson allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out one in a scoreless outing and Martin allowed a run on two hits and struck out one.

J.B. Bukauskas will take on Jonathan Hernandez in game three of this series. First pitch is at 7:15.

Lynchburg 5, Fayetteville 4

Fayetteville home runs: Enmanuel Valdez (1, 4 season; solo in 4th)

The Woodpeckers tied the game with a run in the 9th... only to walk off with a loss yet again. That makes it three straight games ending in walk-off losses and seven in this fashion on the year.

Chad Donato went 4.1 innings and allowed four runs (one inherited runner charged to him) on seven hits, walked three, and struck out two. Tommy DeJuneas was the first man out of the Fayetteville bullpen and he allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out three in 2.2 innings. Tanner Duncan pitched a scoreless 8th, but the Hillcats got the first three men on base in the 9th and scored the winning run against him. In 1+ inning, Duncan allowed the winning run on three hits, walked two, and struck out two.

Jacob Meyers scored the first run of the night on an errant pickoff throw in the 1st inning. Alfredo Angarita hit a sac fly to bring in Enmanuel Valdez in the 2nd and then Valdez smacked his first Carolina League home run in the 4th. Jonathan Arauz hit an RBI single in the 9th that tied the game at 4. Michael Papierski finished 3-4 on the night.

Yohan Ramirez will face Jean Carlos Mejía in game two of this series. First pitch is at 6:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities 12, Wisconsin 3

W- R.J. Freure (3-1)

QC home runs: Jeremy Peña (4, 2-run in 5th)

Fun game. Everyone in the lineup had a hit and scored a run. Well... Alex Holderbach didn't score, but he did have a hit. Hopefully, the Banditos can finally settle in at home without the threat of flooding.

The one hit that R.J. Freure allowed in his five innings was a two-run homer hit by Connor McVey. Freure walked three and struck out six. Matt Ruppenthal struck out four over three perfect innings. Felipe Tejada allowed a run on a sac fly, two hits, and he also recorded a strikeout in the 9th.

Ross Adolph scored the first run of the game when Austin Dennis hit into a fielder's choice in the 3rd. Jeremy Peña scored another run on Marty Costes' groundout. In the 5th, Peña whacked a two-run homer and Quad Cities also got a pair of RBI singles from Trey Dawson and Michael Wielansky. Peña added a sac fly to his ledger in the 6th and Adolph smacked an RBI triple in the 7th. The Banditos capped things off in the 8th as Alex Holderbach hit a sac fly, Dawson ripped an RBI double, and Wielansky added another RBI single. Peña, Dawson, Wielansky, and Adolph all finished with two hits on the evening.

Cody Deason faces Adam Hill in game two of this series. First pitch is at 6:35.

Nashville 9, Round Rock 7

The Express scored three in the 8th to break a 4-4 tie, but the Sounds ended up getting the last laugh as they scored five in the 9th to steal this Sunday matinee.

Cionel Pérez went five innings and allowed four runs on six hits, walked two, and struck out six. Ronel Blanco was the first man out of the Round Rock bullpen and he turned in a fine outing, allowing two hits, walking two, and striking out five over three scoreless. Reymin Guduan couldn't close it out as he allowed four unearned runs (one inherited runner charged to him) on two hits (three-run homer), walked one, and struck out one. Brendan McCurry got the last out of the 9th, but not before Nashville took the lead thanks to a two-run homer from Hunter Cole. McCurry allowed one other hit and one of the runs from that homer was charged to Guduan as an unearned run.

Kyle Tucker opened the scoring with an RBI triple in the 2nd inning. Drew Ferguson clubbed a two-run homer in the 6th and stop me if you've heard this before, but Yordan Alvarez launched a solo shot not long after. Round Rock's three runs in the 8th all came with two outs. Myles Straw kept the inning alive with a single and then Yordan Alvarez (intentionally) and Taylor Jones both walked to load the bases for Tucker, who came through with a two-run double to put Round Rock in front. A.J. Reed then drew a walk to re-load the bases for Nick Tanielu, who walked in Jones for the last Express run of the afternoon.

Tucker went 2-4 and was the only player in the Express lineup to finish with a multi-hit game. Alvarez and Jones both scored twice.

The Express and Sounds will play the fifth and final game of this series at 7:05.

Midland 4, Corpus Christi 3

CC home runs: Granden Goetzman (9, solo in 2nd)

The RockHounds forced the split by scoring three in the 7th to take the lead. The Hooks had a chance to tie in the 9th but they stranded runners on the corners to end the game.

J.B. Bukauskas allowed a run on four hits and struck out six in six innings. Possibly the most important stat that he put up was zero walks, the first walk-free appearance of his season. Bukauskas entered the day with 22 walks in 24 innings. Justin Ferrell bore the brunt of the Hounds' big 7th inning; he only got two outs and allowed three runs (one inherited runner charged to him). The two runs that he himself allowed came on a double and he also walked two. Colin McKee got the last out of the 7th, but not before he allowed an RBI single that put Midland in front. That run was also charged to Ferrell. McKee struck out two in 1.1 innings.

Granden Goetzman led off the 2nd with a homer that opened the scoring. Ronnie Dawson followed with a double and he came around to score on a single from Josh Rojas. Seth Beer hit an RBI single in the 5th. Rojas finished 3-4 on the afternoon, while Chas McCormick went 2-4.

Corpus will now head up to Amarillo to start a three-game series at 7:05. Brandon Bielak will start game one.

Fayetteville 11, Carolina 0

W- Yohan Ramírez (1-2)

Fayetteville home runs: Miguelangel Sierra (6, solo in 3rd), Jake Adams (6, 2-run in 3rd)

The Woodpeckers avoided a sweep by dominating the Mudcats in all facets of the game.

Yohan Ramirez allowed the one hit, walked one, and struck out 11 over 6.2 innings and Hunter Martin completed the shutout by striking out five over 2.1 perfect innings.

Miguelangel Sierra opened the scoring by leading off the 3rd inning with a home run. Jake Adams launched a two-run homer later in the inning. Scott Manea hit a two-run single in the 5th and then Fayetteville put this game away with a six-run 8th inning.

Manea was plunked to lead off the 8th. Scott Schreiber then drew a walk and they both advanced a base on a wild pitch. Manea scored on Michael Papierski's single and then Sierra got plunked to load the bases. Jacob Meyers popped out in foul territory for the first out, but Jonathan Arauz managed to come through with a two-run double. Corey Julks followed with an RBI single. Jake Adams went down on strikes for the second out, but another wild pitch allowed Arauz to score and Colton Shaver capped off the afternoon with an RBI double.

Arauz (2 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R), Shaver (RBI 2B), and Manea (2B, 2 RBI, R) all finished with three hits on the day. Julks finished 2-5 with an RBI and scored twice.

Fayetteville hits the road this week. The first leg of this roadtrip takes them to Winston-Salem, where they'll begin a four-game series with the Dash at 7:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities 11, Peoria 9

QC home runs: Trey Dawson (3, 3-run in 7th)

The Banditos withstood a 9th-inning rally from the Chiefs to take the series.

Matt Ruppenthal went 4.2 innings and allowed five runs on eight hits (solo homer), walked one, and struck out two. Humberto Castellanos tagged in for 3.1 innings, allowing two runs on two hits, walking one, and striking out five. Riley Cabral got the 9th and he allowed two runs on two hits, walked one, and struck out two.

Jeremy Peña scored the first run of the day on a wild pitch in the 1st. Marty Costes scored on an error in the 3rd. Quad Cities got two in the top of the 5th thanks to a pair of RBI singles from César Salazar and David Hensley. After Peoria took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the 5th, Trey Dawson scored on an error in the 6th to tie the game and then he put the Banditos back in front with a three-run blast in the 7th inning. With two outs and the bases loaded in the 9th, Michael Wielansky hit a two-run single and Peña followed with an RBI base hit of his own to push the Quad Cities lead to 11-7.

Salazar went 3-5 on the day while Wielansky (2B, 2 RBI) and Hensley (2B, RBI, 2 R, SB) both finished with two hits apiece.

Quad Cities wraps up their current roadtrip with a four-game series in Kane County. Luis Garcia will start the opener and he'll go against Levi Kelly at 6:30.

The Sounds smacked four homers to derail the Express.

Ryan Hartman went five innings and allowed five runs on six hits (two solos and a two-run homer) and struck out three. Akeem Bostick was the first man out of the Round Rock bullpen and the one run he allowed in his 3.1 innings came on a solo homer hit by Patrick Wisdom, who took Hartman deep for a solo homer earlier in the game. Bostick allowed one other hit and struck out two. Reymin Guduan allowed a hit and got the last two outs of the 9th via strikeout.

Myles Straw went 3-5 with a couple of RBI singles in the 3rd and the 9th. Derek Fisher also went 3-5 and hit an RBI single in the 9th before Straw hit his second one. Yordan Alvarez finished 2-5 and got to face the man he was traded for, Josh Fields.

Cionel Pérez faces Wes Benjamin in game four of this series. First pitch is at 1:05.

Corpus Christi 9, Midland 6

Corpus stormed out to a 9-1 lead and withstood a late Midland charge to get the victory.

Ronnie Dawson put the Hooks on the board with a two-run single in the 2nd inning and he came home himself on Chuckie Robinson's infield single. Stephen Wrenn hit a one-out double in the 3rd and one batter later, Seth Beer connected for his first Texas League homer. Osvaldo Duarte hit an RBI single in the 4th and Chas McCormick whacked a three-run homer in the 5th. Beer and Dawson both finished 3-4 on the night.

Carson LaRue went five innings and allowed a run on three hits, walked one, and struck out one. Brandon Bailey was the first man out of the Corpus bullpen and he went three innings, allowing five runs on six hits (three-run homer), walking three, and striking out two. Kit Scheetz, who was pitching on his birthday, allowed a hit and struck out the side in the 9th to earn the save.

J.B. Bukauskas will get the start in the series finale. He'll face James Naile at 2:00.

Carolina 6, Fayetteville 4

Fayetteville home runs: None.

The Woodpeckers erased a 4-0 deficit with four runs in the 4th to tie, but the Mudcats regained control with two runs in the 5th.

Fayetteville parlayed a bases-loaded situation to lead off the 4th into their four runs. Colton Shaver put the Woodpeckers on the board with an RBI single, Scott Manea ripped a two-run double, and Scott Schreiber hit a sac fly. Jonathan Arauz finished 3-4 with a double and scored a run.

Chad Donato allowed six runs (three earned, two inherited runners charged to him) on six hits (three-run homer), walked four, and struck out four in four innings. Tommy DeJuneas walked one and struck out five over three hitless innings, but two of the runners he inherited from Donato scored on sacrifice flies. Willy Collado allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out four in two scoreless innings.

The Woodpeckers will look to avoid the sweep at 2:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities 6, Peoria 2

The Banditos only scored in one inning but it was enough to give them the win. This series has been characterized by big innings and after the Chiefs had an eight-run inning on Friday, Quad Cities put up six in the 4th on Saturday.

All six Quad Cities runs in the 4th came with two outs. Jonathan Lacroix kept the inning alive by drawing a walk and one batter later, Trey Dawson started the assault with a two-run home run. Ross Adolph ripped a double and he came home when Austin Dennis took his place at second following a double of his own. Dennis scored on a single from Ramiro Rodríguez. After Jeremy Peña singled, Alex McKenna hit a two-run double.

Corpus Christi 12, Northwest Arkansas 3

The Hooks banged out 15 hits and went 7-7 in stolen base attempts as they romped to a victory.

Tyler Ivey went five innings and allowed a run on three hits, walked one, and struck out seven. Brett Daniels got the 6th; he walked one, struck out one, and the one hit he allowed was a two-run homer to Khalil Lee. Ronel Blanco finished things off by allowing one hit and striking out five over the final three innings.

Corpus seized control by busting out for four runs in the 3rd inning. Stephen Wrenn hit an RBI single and then stole home. Granden Goetzman and Chas McCormick chipped in with an RBI single and an RBI double, respectively. Abraham Toro smacked a solo homer in the 5th and added a sac fly to his ledger in the 6th. The Hooks then proceeded to bury the Naturals with a six-run 8th.

Osvaldo Duarte led things off with a homer. Ronnie Dawson doubled and Wrenn drew a walk, which prompted a mound visit. Toro followed with a single and an error on the play allowed Dawson to score. Toro advanced to third, but Wrenn was thrown out at the plate. Granden Goetzman followed with an RBI single and then J.J. Matijevic launched a two-run homer. McCormick got plunked but got forced out at second base. Josh Rojas managed to reach base and he scored the final run of the evening on Chuckie Robinson's double.

Everyone in the Hooks' lineup recorded at least one hit. Duarte led the way in that department by finishing 4-4 and scoring three runs from the bottom of the order. Toro finished 3-4 and scored three runs, while Goetzman went 2-5 with a couple of runs scored. Duarte and Wrenn stole two bases apiece; they both have four stolen bases on the season. Rojas (5), Dawson (3), and Toro (1) also stole a base.

The Woodpeckers scored a touchdown in the first inning to cruise to the win.

Fayetteville led off the 1st by loading the bases on three singles from Bryan de la Cruz, Michael Papierski, and Seth Beer. Jake Adams drove in the first run of the evening, although not in the way he expected to because he got hit by a pitch. Papierski scored when Corey Julks grounded into a force out. Julks then stole second and then Jake Meyers ripped a two-run double. Jonathan Arauz drew a walk and Miguelangel Sierra landed the haymaker in the form of a three-run home run. Beer went 2-4 and hit an RBI single in the 4th inning. Julks (RBI, R, 2 SB) and Papierski (2B, 2 R) had three hits apiece.

Chad Donato has stumbled out of the gate in 2019 but he turned in his best performance of the season by allowing three hits and striking out eight over five shutout innings. J.P. France tagged in for 3.2 innings and allowed a run on six hits, walked one, and struck out four. Tommy DeJuneas got a fly ball out to end the game.

Quad Cities 8, Peoria 0

The Banditos busted out for eight runs Tuesday afternoon after getting shut out three times in their previous four contests, so hopefully this signifies the start of a breakout.

Austin Hansen and R.J. Freure also turned in stellar performances on the mound as they combined for a one-hitter. Hansen walked three and struck out five over five innings and Freure finished it off by allowing a hit, walking two, and striking out five over the last four innings.

Scott Schreiber scored the first run of the day on an error following a David Hensley single in the 2nd inning. Hensley and Jonathan Lacroix hit back-to-back solo homers in the 4th. Trey Dawson ripped an RBI double in the 6th and then Quad Cities got a little more insurance in the 9th inning.

Austin Dennis led off the 9th with a single. He then stole second and scored on a Jeremy Peña single. Schreiber hit an RBI single to bring in Enmanuel Valdez and then a wild pitch allowed him and Peña to advance a base. Lacroix hit a sac fly and Hensley capped off the day with an RBI single. Everyone in the Banditos' lineup had a hit in this game; Hensley finished with four, while Dawson had two.

Nivaldo Rodríguez will start the series finale. He'll face Cole Aker at 6:35.

Sacramento 4, Fresno 3 in 10 innings

Fresno home runs: Jon Kemmer (12, solo in 4th), J.D. Davis (8, solo in 6th)

The Grizzlies got their leadoff runner home in the first extra frame, but the RiverCats got theirs home... and then some to walk off with the victory.

Jon Kemmer and J.D. Davis slammed solo homers in the 4th and the 6th, respectively, which represented Fresno's two runs in regulation. Nick Tanielu started the 10th in scoring position and came home when Myles Straw hit into a fielder's choice. Davis and Taylor Jones both finished 2-4 on the night.

Brock Dykxhoorn allowed a run on seven hits, walked one, and struck out four in seven innings of work. Reymin Guduan and Brendan McCurry both recorded four outs. Guduan had an inherited runner charged to him; he also allowed a hit,walked one, and struck out two. McCurry served up a walk-off two-run homer to Chris Shaw in the bottom of the 10th. He allowed one other hit, walked one, and struck out three.

Cy Sneed goes up against Jordan Johnson in the series finale. First pitch is at 7:05 Pacific.

Corpus Christi 7, Northwest Arkansas 2

Down to their last inning, the Hooks made it count as they seized control with six runs in the 9th.

Ryan Hartman went six innings and allowed a run on seven hits, walked one, and struck out eight. Justin Ferrell was the first man out of the Corpus bullpen and allowed an unearned run on two hits and fanned four in his two innings of work. Erasmo Pinales worked around a hit and a walk on his way to a scoreless 9th.

Randy César opened the scoring with an RBI single in the 1st inning. This would be Corpus Christi's only scoring play until they went nuts in the 9th.

Alex De Goti kicked things off in the final inning with a double. He advanced a base on an error that allowed Aníbal Sierra to reach and scored the tying run on a single from Chas McCormick, which prompted the Naturals to make a pitching change. McCormick was erased at second base, but Stephen Wrenn beat out the double play attempt and Sierra managed to come home with the go-ahead run. Wrenn stole second and scored on César's second RBI single of the game. Yordan Alvarez followed by smacking a two-run homer and Lorenzo Quintana went back-to-back to cap off the onslaught.

César finished 3-5 on the evening, while Alvarez, Quintana, and Andy Piñeda all finished with two hits. Wrenn's stolen base in the 9th gives him 21 this season.

Framber Valdez will get the start in the Hooks' final game in the state of Arkansas during the regular season. He'll face Foster Griffin at 6:35.

Carolina 3, Buies Creek 2

BC home runs: Jake Meyers (1, 6 season; solo in 3rd)

Both teams scored a run in the 3rd and the 7th innings. The difference in this game was the Mudcats' run in the 4th.

Jake Meyers scored both of Buies Creek's runs in this game. He led off the third with his first Carolina League homer and scored on an Abraham Toro groundout in the 7th. Osvaldo Duarte finished 2-4. The Carolina Stros went 0-9 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.

The two runs that Hector Perez allowed in his five innings came on a couple of solo homers. He allowed three other hits and struck out seven. Cristian Javier pitched 2.1 innings and allowed a run on three hits, walked one, and struck out three. Jesús Balaguer got a couple of groundouts in the 8th to finish the inning.

Buies Creek and Carolina will wrap up this series at 7:00 Eastern.

Quad Cities 4, Beloit 2

QC home runs: None.

Both teams scored twice in the 4th inning. However, the Banditos also scored in the 2nd and the 8th, so they emerged as the winners.

Leovanny Rodriguez went five innings and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out five. César Rosado turned in four scoreless to earn the save, allowing two hits, walknig four, and striking out five.

Logan Mattix doubled to lead off the 2nd and scored the first run of the night on an error that also allowed Scott Schreiber to reach safely. Quad Cities' two runs in the 4th came on a couple of RBI doubles from Colton Shaver and Schreiber. Seth Beer ripped a leadoff double in the 8th and scored the final run of the evening on a base hit from Shaver, who went 2-4. Mattix also went 2-4; both of his hits were doubles.

Jairo Solís will take on Mitchell Jordan in game two of this series. First pitch is at 7:00.

Tri-City 3, Vermont 2

The ValleyCats topped the Lake Monsters despite issuing eight walks on the evening. Vermont countered by committing three errors, while Tri-City played mistake-free defense.

Gilberto Celestino hit a two-run double in the 3rd to open the scoring and Alex McKenna ripped an RBI double in the 5th. Trey Dawson went 2-4 with a double, stole a base, and scored two of the ValleyCats' three runs in this game.

Jose Luis Hernandez and Carlos Hiraldo both pitched three innings to start off. Hernandez allowed a run on three hits, walked two, and struck out one, while Hiraldo turned in a scoreless outing, allowing three hits, walking two, and striking out three. Ian Hardman got the first out of the 7th with a strikeout, but he ended up walking the bases loaded and one of the free passes he issued turned into a run after he left the game. Juan Pablo Lopez walked one and struck out two in 1.2 innings and Tim Hardy struck out two in a 1-2-3 9th to close it out.

Mark Moclair will take on Abdiel Mendoza in game three of this series. First pitch is at 12:05 Eastern.

GCL Nationals 3, GCL Astros 0

Edgardo Sandoval allowed a run on five hits in three innings of work. Elián Rodriguez was the first man out of the GCL bullpen and he too allowed a run in his 2.1 innings. He also allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out two. Manny Ramirez allowed an unearned run on a sac fly, walked two, and struck out two in 2.2 innings.

DSL Marlins 2, DSL Astros 1

L- Ricardo León (1-1)

DSL home runs: None.

All of the scoring in this game was done in the 9th inning. Unfortunately, the Marlins wound up walking off with the victory.

Javier Bermúdez broke the 0-0 tie with a sac fly that scored Junior Marte in the top half of the 9th. Yefri Carrillo finished 2-4 with a stolen base, his fourth of the year.

Wender Oberto and Heitor Tokar both threw four scoreless innings. Oberto allowed a couple of hits and struck out one while Tokar allowed a hit and struck out two. They also hit one batter apiece. The Marlins got both of their runs off of Ricardo León to win; Leon did not record an out in the 9th.
